Dr. Ana I Prados (Code 614) attended the Latin America Geospatial Forum in Mexico City on September 22-25, 2014. The title of her presentation at the GEOSS in the Americas session was "Building Capacity to Use Earth Observations for Environmental Management in Latin America". The talk featured several NASA capacity building programs including the Applied Remote Sensing Program (ARSET). Since 2008, ARSET has conducted hands-on training in Colombia and Costa Rica, and the program has also translated most of its training materials into Spanish, available at http://arset.gsfc.nasa.gov. Dr. Prados learned about remote sensing data needs across the region, and how Mexico is already using NASA earth observations for decision-support.
