<Title>Reminder: Open Enrollment Ends November 15</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div><span>The annual <a href="https://t.e2ma.net/click/77nmv/nwtbnbb/z58uzf" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Open Enrollment</a> period for faculty and staff health benefits ends on<span><span>November 15</span></span>. Employees who need to make changes to their health benefits OR those who wish to enroll or keep their Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for 2018 should <a href="https://t.e2ma.net/click/77nmv/nwtbnbb/fy9uzf" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">take action now</a>. If there are no changes in coverage, current elections will roll over into the 2018 plan year and no action is required.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>As a reminder, we are hosting a second <a href="https://t.e2ma.net/click/77nmv/nwtbnbb/vqavzf" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">information session</a> in UC 312 from <span><span>12 – 1 p.m.</span></span>on <span><span>Monday, November 13</span></span>.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span><strong>Important Updates:</strong></span></div><div><ul><li><span><a href="https://t.e2ma.net/click/77nmv/nwtbnbb/bjbvzf" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><strong>Healthcare FSA Limit Increase</strong></a>: IRS has recently increased the maximum annual election for the Healthcare Flexible Spending to $2,650 (from $2,600) for 2018. The maximum biweekly amount will now be $110.41. Please note:<strong>employees currently enrolled in an FSA must re-enroll by calling the </strong><strong>Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system</strong> at <a rel="nofollow external" class="bo">410-669-3893</a> prior to <span><span>November 15</span></span> in order to keep coverage for 2018.</span></li><li><span><strong>New Prescription Cards</strong>: CVS Caremark will replace Express Scripts effective <span><span>January 1, 2018</span></span>. Employees currently enrolled in prescription drug coverage will automatically be enrolled with Caremark and will receive new cards prior to the new year. <Title>Sad news for the UMBC community</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div>Dear Members of the UMBC Community, </div><div><br></div><div>I write with regret to inform our community of the sad news that our dear friend and colleague <a href="http://www.marchfh.com/obituaries/Lula-Caldwell/#!/Obituary" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Lu Caldwell</a>, administrative assistant in the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017.</div><div><br></div><div>Ms. Caldwell came to UMBC from the Maryland Higher Education Commission in 1998. In her 19 years with UMBC, she served the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships in many capacities. She was office manager and provided administrative support to the office’s director, as well as to the office’s merit scholarships unit. She also assisted in the processing of need-based aid documentation. Ms. Caldwell touched many lives during her 42 years of service to the State of Maryland, and we are thankful to have had the opportunity to work with such a kind, passionate, and dedicated colleague.</div><div><br></div><div>A viewing service for Ms. Caldwell will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at March Funeral Homes - West Baltimore, 4300 Wabash Ave., Baltimore, MD, 21215. Visitation begins at 2 p.m., followed by a service at 2:30 p.m.</div><div><br></div><div><em>Yvette Mozie-Ross, Vice Provost, Enrollment Management and Planning</em></div></div>

<Title>Announcement of Search for Dean of The Erickson School</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div><span>Dear Members of the UMBC Community,</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>I am writing to announce the start of a national search for UMBC’s new Dean of The Erickson School who will replace Dean Judah Ronch who will have served in that positions with distinction for the past eight years. This search will begin immediately and continue through this academic year with the intent of appointing the new Dean by <span><span>July 1, 2018</span></span>.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Dr. Antonio Moreira, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, has kindly agreed to chair the search committee. Under the leadership of Dr. Moreira, I have appointed a search committee to assist the university in identifying our new Dean, and we have engaged the services of executive search firm Storbeck/Pimentel to assist the committee in its work. The names of the members of the committee are listed below, each of whom has my sincere gratitude for agreeing to take on this critical institutional responsibility.</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>The committee will share with the UMBC community the progress of the search over the coming weeks and months and will seek input and feedback. <Title>Congratulations on successful visit for COEIT accreditation</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div><span>Dear Members of the UMBC Community,</span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>As many of you are aware, the ABET accreditation team has been on campus for the past three days, and yesterday they delivered their positive verbal report. </span><span>Although their final written report is pending, of particular note was the way in which the team highlighted the exemplary dedication of COEIT faculty and staff to the success of our students.</span></div><div><br></div><div><span>We wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate our COEIT colleagues for their careful preparation of the excellent self-study documents and positive interaction with the members of the accreditation team. In accordance with the Higher Education Act, as amended by the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA), UMBC makes available to current and prospective faculty, staff and students important disclosure information regarding policies and disclosures. While UMBC has a long history of sharing consumer and compliance information, the website was designed to provide all disclosure information in one location.
