We are proud to have return to INDS our very own (and now DR.!) Eric Montgomery who will be teaching the Monday section of INDS 480, Capstone Project Seminar.
He earned his bachelor's degree in both Physics and INDS. His INDS degree was titled "Optical Engineering". He then went on to get his Master's and Doctoral degrees in Physics from University of Maryland. He was a National Merit Scholar, Maryland Distinguished Scholar, and UMBC University Scholar as an undergraduate, graduating summa cum laude. As a graduate student, he received fellowships from the Directed Energy Professional Society, UMD Physics, and the Institute for Research in Electronics and Applied Physics. Dr. Montgomery is now lead experimentalist for the Laboratory for Photocathode Research at UMD and has authored or coauthored nearly twenty articles and proceedings on the design and experimental development of high quantum efficiency, long lived photocathodes for high power free electron lasers.
