The CenUSA Bioenergy Research Internship Experience for Undergraduates provides interdisciplinary training for students in bioenergy fields. 13 students are chosen to participate in one of the following areas:<div><ul><li><span>Feedstock Development</span></li><li><span>Field-Level Sustainability</span></li><li><span>Logistics</span></li><li><span>Policy-Level Sustainability</span></li><li><span>Feedstock Conversion Economics</span></li><li><span>Markets and Distribution</span></li><li><span>Health and Safety</span></li><li><span>Commercialization</span></li></ul></div><div>Undergraduates will gain vital skills in computer modeling, field methods, and/or experimental design by doing independent projects. </div><div><br></div><div>Students will receive a stipend of $450/week for the 10 week program ($4,500), as well as having housing provided on-campus and a travel allowance.</div><div><br></div><div>The program runs from June 1 - August 6 and the deadline for the program is <strong>March 1</strong>. </div><div><br></div><div>See the website for details.</div></div>

    <div class="html-content">The Purdue Polytechnic Institute Computer Graphics Technology Department invites students from all majors with an interest in visualization to apply to this REU. The program is looking for students with interests in visualization from technical and non-technical backgrounds. Students will be assigned to an REU consisting of a research collaborator, visualization mentor, and an REU student. The program offers hands-on interdisciplinary research in visualization while also gaining skills in networking, writing, and presentations.<div><br><div>"Research areas of this site include (but is not limited to): </div><div><strong>Computer 
    science, genetics and biochemistry, geophysics, sociology, molecular 
    modeling and simulation, inorganic chemistry, social media, parks

These innovative projects touch on "virtually every field of science and industry"! Students pick will be in one of several research programs: <div><ul><li><span>Midspacial Frequency Optical Surface Error Control</span></li><li><span>Creating, Manipulating and Imaging Complex Quantum States in a Single Atom</span></li><li><span>XUV Frequency Combs for Precision Spectroscopy</span></li><li><span>Fabrication and Testing of Freeform Optics</span></li><li><span>Ultrafast Mode-Locked Semiconductor Disk Lasers</span></li><li><span>3-D Vector Maxwell Simulations on the Nanoscale</span></li><li><span>Metal Oxide Thin Film for UV Protection of Polymer Optical Filler</span></li><li><span>Development of V-Lab Module: Virtual 3-D Optical Ray Aberration Visualizer</span></li><li><span>Optical Coherence Tomography Imaging of Fallopian Tube</span></li><li><span>Freeform Optics for Lighting</span></li></ul><div>Students will receive a <strong>stipend of $5,000</strong>.</div><div>The deadline is <strong>February 26</strong> and acceptance letters will be sent in early March.
