    <strong>The Diversity Summer Internship Program</strong> welcomes applicants from all over the United States, including applicants from underrepresented groups and economically disadvantaged areas. DSIP is designed to assist students in preparing for graduate school and includes:        </div>
    <div>
    <ul>
    <li>Community or lab based research internship with a faculty mentor</li>
    <li>Completion of a summer research paper</li>
    <li>GRE workshop</li>
    <li>Public health and professional development seminars</li>
    <li>Oral and poster presentations</li>
    </ul>
    <div><strong>Benefits</strong></div>
    <ul>
    <li>Housing is provided to all interns who reside outside of local counties.</li>
    <li>A stipend is provided to interns who are not already funded by their schools or federal programs. (Amount varies by faculty mentor)</li>
    </ul>
    <div><strong>Suggested Majors</strong></div>
    </div>
    <div>Students currently in their second year (or higher) from <strong>All Majors</strong> are encouraged to apply including: </div>

    <ul>
    <li>Biology, </li>
    <li>Chemistry, </li>
    <li>Public Health, </li>
    <li>Environmental Health Science, </li>
    <li>Health Education/Science, </li>
    <li>Pre-Med, and </li>

    <p><span>The <a href="http://bit.ly/2khimAx" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Baltimore City Teaching Residency</a></span><span> is looking for you! They recruit candidates without a background in education to become an effective teacher for the students who need them most. </span></p>
    <p><span>Baltimore
     City students need and deserve creative teachers to share the wonders 
    of Biology or Chemistry. And those students with additional learning 
    needs could
     benefit greatly from the fresh-thinking and experience your school has 
    already provided.</span></p>
    <p><span><br></span></p>
    <p><span><a href="http://bit.ly/2khimAx" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Baltimore City Teaching Residency</a>
     trains accomplished professionals and recent college graduates to 
    become exceptional, certified teachers for the
     Baltimore students who need them most.  We have a high need for Science
     and Special Education teachers for the coming school year.</span><span></span></p>
    <p><span>Teachers
     in Biology and Chemistry are needed to show Baltimore students the hows
     and whys of the world they live in. Only twelve credit hours in Biology
     or Chemistry (or related coursework)
     are needed to qualify.</span><span></span></p>

    Most enrollees who enter into the Special Education program have little 
    to no prior background in Special Education. As a Baltimore Special 
    Education Resident you would be dual certified, which makes you a 
    valuable prospect for hiring Principals and doubles
     your future teaching options.<span></span></p>

    <span> </span></p>
    <p>Special
     Education Residents benefit from a range of choices in classroom 
    settings. Most BCTR Residents teach students with mild-to-moderate 
    disabilities. In fact, students are learning the
     same content as their grade-level peers in a general education setting.
     You may work with a co-teacher, have a small group of students, or a 
    combination of these settings.<span></span></p>

    <div>We are currently recruiting for the 2018 <span>Organizational</span> <span>Science</span> <span>Summer</span> Diversity <span>Institute</span> at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The mission of the <span>Institute</span> is to diversify the pipeline for graduate education in <span>Organizational </span><span>Science</span>. The 2018 <span>Institute</span> will be held <span><span><span><span><span><span>May 13-18, 2018</span></span></span></span></span></span>. The application deadline is <span><span>February 2, 2018</span></span>.</div>

    <br>To be considered for the <span>Institute</span> Fellowship, applicants must:<br><ul>
    <li>Be a rising junior or senior<br>

    <li><p><span>Food Access &amp; Food Insecurity </span></p></li>
    <li><p><span>Economic Disparity</span></p></li>

<Title>2018 AFRL Repperger Research Internship Program</Title>

    <p><span><span> U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) is currently accepting applications for its <strong>2018 AFRL Repperger Research Internship Program.</strong>
     This civilian research opportunity is a 10-week summer program intended
     for MS/PhD candidates pursuing degrees in STEM. Each year the 
    laboratory will appointment a couple exceptional undergraduate students 
    into the program.  There are 36 posted opportunities, once the 
    application January 21, 2018 deadline passes, each application will be 
    reviewed and AFRL will fund 15 participants for the summer period.

    opportunities, there are available research opportunities in nearly 
    every STEM field! Please apply to no more than (3) Repperger

    <div class="html-content">Missouri Botanical Garden is pleased to announce the opening of the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program that will provide research opportunities for 10 students, for 10 weeks during the summer of 2018. Students will work on independent mentored projects in plant systematics, conservation biology, and ethnobotany. Participants will have access to the Garden’s herbarium of more than 6.5 million specimens, an excellent botanical library, rich garden collections, a laboratory facilities for plant anatomy, microscopy, digital imaging, SEM, and DNA analysis, and the Shaw Nature Reserve – a 2,400 acre ecological preserve featuring prairie, forest, glades, wetlands, and 14 miles of hiking trails.<div><br></div>

    <div>This program provides advanced training in the manipulation and analysis of proteins for undergraduate students. It facilitates a deep understanding of experimental laboratory research, insights into protein biochemistry and contemplation of the broader context of research. A wide range of student research projects mentored by faculty in the Department of Biochemistry is available. Students who are planning a career in research, but have limited undergraduate research opportunities at their home institution, and students from underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply.</div>

Kuhn Library &amp; Gallery at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) seeks an individual to provide vision, leadership and strategic direction for a wide range of digital systems and services including new technology and library legacy technologies.  The position is responsible for ensuring quality and reliable delivery of library technology systems and services and should encourage exploration in support of teaching, research, learning and collaboration for current and a new generation of library users.  The position works closely with the UMBC Division of Information Technology, library and university personnel.  The incumbent, as an Associate Director of the Kuhn Library &amp; Gallery, will be part of the Library Executive Committee and have a voice in developing library policy for the 21st Century.  The position reports to the Library Director.<br><br><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong><br>Develops a technology plan that builds on the University’s and Library’s strategic plans to address new opportunities and pursue possibilities of adapting and applying technology solutions. Participates in library planning; serves on library-wide and university committees and task forces including the Library Executive Council. Works in partnership with the campus Division of Information Technology for discovery, planning and implementation of new technology. Leads the library’s investigation and implementation of emerging technology to better serve the campus. Keeps current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and costs. Provides leadership in coordinating and defining technology requirements for library-wide projects and initiatives. Oversees Library Information Technology Services composed of library faculty and staff and student employees and works with other areas of the library and university that are affiliated with technology. In partnership with the Division of Information Technology insures that library systems and computing are robust and operational.<br><br><strong>REQUIREMENTS: </strong><br><ul>
    <li>ALA accredited MLS or equivalent advanced degree.</li>
    <li>Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in IT-related project management in one or more of the following in an academic library setting:</li>
    <ul>
    <li>Database development</li>
    <li>Network engineering</li>
    <li>Hardware and software upgrades to mission critical applications</li>
    <li>Application development</li>
    </ul>
    <li>Experience with library technologies and technology planning and demonstrated knowledge of current technology trends.</li>
    <li>Strong analytical and decision making skills.</li>
    <li>Demonstrated project management experience.</li>
    <li>Evidence of leadership and management ability.</li>
    <li>Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to communicate clearly, knowledgeably and personably both orally and in writing.</li>
    </ul>
    <strong>SALARY AND BENEFITS:</strong>  Position is a 12-month library faculty appointment at anticipated rank of Librarian II.  Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.  Minimum salary: $85,000 -$95,000 comprehensive benefits.  The expected candidate will be expected to meet library and university requirements for reappointment, promotion, and permanent status.<br><br><br><strong>To Apply:</strong>  Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.  For best consideration, please respond by January 31, 2018.
