We had a conflict with the Department of Institutional Advancement yesterday while they were in room 308 working on a promo video for the University and this building. 

Please be aware that the conference rooms are scheduled on Google calendar, with Faculty and Faculty meetings having first priority. 

Everyone is able to schedule these rooms, but please let's all use the same platform. If you would like the ability to access G-calendar, please send me an email and I can give you access.

The door facing the quad is not quite engaging in the solenoid after the door is opened with the ADA handicap plate, leaving the building unsecured. I have notified UMBC police, but if you use this door over the long weekend to get into the ILSB, please make sure you pull the door fully closed after you enter. 

We will address this first thing on Monday.

Accessible routes and parking in the Commons Garage area have been available since the Interdisciplinary Life Science Building (ILSB) opened this Fall after three years of construction.  The attached document highlights how the accessible routes have expanded and shifted since the construction fencing came down this past summer.  If your event, classes, work, or other interests bring you to the East Side of Campus, take a look at the attached document to become familiar with updated options.

Need to know more about accessible routes? The focused map section in the document is excerpted from UMBC's Accessible Route Map, which is posted on UMBC's Visitors Guide  Campus Maps website.

Please refrain from using the freight elevator for leaving the building from the main lobby except in the event of an emergency. The doors into the lobby can open blindly into crowds. and leaves the door open overnight and during the weekends. 

Please use the passenger elevators when leaving the building either for a class for for the day.

The Steris tech was out yesterday and rebuilt a valve which was preventing sufficient vacuum in the autoclave chamber, which was setting off the too long in vacuum error message. It appears that this has fixed the situation.

Please let me know if anything is still amiss and I'll have them back out. 

Please see the message from Jaclyn Casey regarding the 4th floor sterilizer. 

we can use the workaround until the parts come in, but she was able to replicate the error message we were receiving due to the fact that the unit was not drawing a sufficient vacuum to complete the sterilization during the trash cycle. 

She'll be back Wednesday to complete the repair.

Jaclyn Casey was out today and adjusted a sensor in the autoclave which indicated that the door was fully closed. She ran several cycles and everything seems to be running as designed.
