The Beckman centrifuge needs a new spindle drive. The work will proceed on Monday. Until then, the high speed centrifuge in room 424 is available for use.

If unsure what you are doing, please ask someone, but again this seems to be a faulty equipment drive rather than user error.

It appears we lost a sensor to tell the autoclave that the door has closed before pressurizing. Jaclyn Casey has been called and will not be out until Monday. The second and third floor units are available until the sensor is replaced. 

I don't believe anyone did anything wrong, this is just part of the break n process of the building. Thank you for your patience!

Both rooms 308 and 408  have had their control panel and wireless transponder respectively, replaced. All wireless capabilities are available in conference rooms 308 and 408.

I wanted to give you an update on the equipment deliveries expected this week.

First, the two Millipore A10 systems were installed today

We had our Vacuum technologies glovebox delivered last week., location and setup TBD

We expect the hydro picopure system to be installed on the second floor in room 221C.

Our delivery of 4 foot biosafety cabinets are expected to ship, delivery TBD

Six Lancer glass washers will be delivered this week, set up shortly there after

The rack systems of aquaria will be set up in the environmental systems rooms 111A and 111B on Thursday and Friday.

Our HVAC installation company, Semco confirmed this morning that they would be able to return to ILSB on Saturday, 11/9/2019 to perform the additional testing and install additional seals for AHU’s 1A thru 1DE.  This would require 2 of the 4 AHU’s to be shut down at a time for a total of an 8-hour period of time. There will still be ventilation into the building during this time, however fume hood flow will be reduced and the building will be somewhat running a negative pressure.

I'll let you know more details as I get them.

 

I wanted to give everyone a heads up that Dr. Hrabowski will be filming this Friday afternoon outside of room 308 he will be using room 308 for prep.

Jaclyn Casey from Steris will be here on Thursday morning running the autoclaves through several cycles as part of their start up procedures. Autoclaves will be unavailable for a few hours as she runs her tests. Please make a note of this and plan ahead.
