The Arduino microcontroller is a great tool for any student who wants to learn more about technology. It is used in a variety of multidisciplinary fields in research and academia, and it is also a great tool for hobbyists. Arduino can be used for projects ranging from quadcopters (bit.ly/1m1xFD7) to thermal cyclers (bit.ly/1iSFTNV) and even wearable electronics (bit.ly/1pqFRgq). For more information about the Arduino, visit bit.ly/1mpwpwx and enjoy!
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION!
The workshop is intended for ANY student from ANY major. We ask that you only understand some VERY basic coding concepts such as if-statements and while-loops. The majority of the code will be provided.
The Arduino workshop is a weekly workshop. There are two levels of workshop: Level 1 for students who have never worked with the Arduino and Level 2 for students who have completed Level 1 or have knowledge of topics covered in Level 1. For the workshop, you will need to bring your laptop and you must able to download the Arduino IDE (http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Software).
The Level 1 workshop is offered on Tuesday and Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm starting the week of April 1st. You may select to participate in either our Tuesday lecture or Wednesday lecture.
The Level 2 workshop is offered on Thursday only from 7pm to 9pm starting the week of April 1st as well.
If you have any questions about registration, downloading the IDE, or anything else, please feel free to email to Sekar Kulandaivel (sekark1@umbc.edu). Thank you for your interest!
