    <div class="html-content"><div><br></div><h6>Effective immediately, the hiring exception process will no longer be required to fill staff positions.  </h6><h6><br></h6><h6><br></h6><h6>Please see the email below sent to UMBC leadership on December 14, 2018.</h6><div><br></div><div><div>On behalf of President Hrabowski and Provost Rous, I am writing to inform you that effective immediately, the hiring exception process will no longer be required to fill staff vacancies. </div><div><br></div><div>Pending hiring exception requests will be returned to the departments.  Departments may proceed with initiating recruitment in the PageUp system.   Vice Presidents and Deans will continue to be responsible for monitoring hiring to ensure fiscal integrity. The approvals of Vice Presidents and Deans will still be required to initiate searches. </div><div><br></div><div>On behalf of the Hiring Exception Committee, I would like to thank everyone for your support and patience during this process.
