    updating their interface to meet the changing needs of their customers. <span> </span>This month, PageUp has made some significant
    upgrades to the flow of the applicant card.<span>

    <h6><strong><span>What is changing? </span></strong></h6>
    
    <p><span>The
    applicant card has a brand new look.<span>  </span>All
    of the same features are still available but may have moved to a different
    place on the card.<span>  </span>The new applicant
    card utilizes tabs to find information instead of scrolling down the page. </span></p><p><span><span>The
    new applicant card is scheduled to go Live on <strong>July 3, 2019.</strong></span></span></p><p><span><span><strong>See attached for screenshots and specific details on changes.</strong></span></span></p></div>

<Title>Language Change for Skype Interview Events</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><p>Due to the increased use of other online video conference platforms, we have decided to change the language in the PageUp system from Skype Interview to Video Interview.  By making the wording more generic, this will cause less confusion for our candidates when the hiring department is using an alternate video interview platform.  Hiring Departments may continue to use Skype or the video platform of their choice.  The language has been changed in the applicant statuses, event type and all related Skype/Video Interview email communications.  Remember, when inviting candidates to your interview event, you can also customize and edit the email invitation.</p><p> </p><p>Additionally, for your convenience, we have added the Video Interview event function to the nonexempt recruitment process.  Previously, Skype/Video interview events were only available on the exempt recruitment process.   Although, it may be rarely used for a nonexempt search on campus, the option is available if needed. </p><p> </p><p>If you have any questions, please contact a member of the HR Recruitment Team. </p></div>

    <div class="html-content"><div><br></div><h6>Effective immediately, the hiring exception process will no longer be required to fill staff positions.  </h6><h6><br></h6><h6><br></h6><h6>Please see the email below sent to UMBC leadership on December 14, 2018.</h6><div><br></div><div><div>On behalf of President Hrabowski and Provost Rous, I am writing to inform you that effective immediately, the hiring exception process will no longer be required to fill staff vacancies. </div><div><br></div><div>Pending hiring exception requests will be returned to the departments.  Departments may proceed with initiating recruitment in the PageUp system.   Vice Presidents and Deans will continue to be responsible for monitoring hiring to ensure fiscal integrity.     <div class="html-content"><h5>The Hiring Manager dashboard is changing in PageUp.</h5><div><br></div><div>PageUp is introducing the latest change to their interface: the Hiring Manager dashboard.     <div class="html-content"><h5>Important Changes to the Format of the Justification Memo</h5><div><br></div><div><p>Historically, hiring departments included demographic
    information (race and gender) of the interviewed applicants in the body of the
    justification memo.<span>   </span>Prior to PageUp
    implementation, this was the only method of reporting this EEO data to Human
    Resources.</p>
    
    <p>Now that PageUp confidentially gathers all necessary EEO
    demographic data on applicants, it is no longer required that this information
    be included in the justification memo.<span>  
    </span>We ask that you Do Not include the information in the memo as the data
    may not match the self -reported data supplied by the applicant.<span>  </span></p>
    
    <p>Please pass this information to any hiring managers in your
    department.<span>  </span></p>
    
    <p>The sample justification memos have been updated on the
    Human Resources website for your reference.</p>
