    <div class="html-content"><div>Prior to the University's winter holiday break, Governor Hogan declared that Maryland State agencies and offices be closed on Monday, December 24, 2018 in observance of Christmas Eve. As you are aware, December 24 had already been declared as an University Holiday.</div><div><br></div><div>The December 24th holiday will be observed on <strong>Friday, July 5, 2019</strong>. Timesheets for eligible regular employees will be automatically coded with the holiday leave code (HOL). Please share this information with your departmental employees.     recently during the Open Enrollment Period, the new State Personnel System
    (SPS) Workday for Benefits Go-Live is January 1, 2019.<span>  </span><strong>In
    mid-January, 2019 you will receive instructions on how to access the SPS for Benefits
    site.<span>  </span></strong>At that time, you will be able
    to view your 2019 benefit elections and your dependent information
    on-line.<span>  </span>To ensure a smooth transition, the
    dedicated UMBC SPS Workday for Benefits Support site will be available with: </p>

    navigation and benefits review</p>

    <div class="html-content"><div><strong>2019 Supplemental Retirement Account (SRA) Limits</strong></div><div>The IRS recently announced the <u>employee contribution</u> limits into an SRA will increase in 2019 by $500.  The following <a href="https://umbc.box.com/v/SRAmemo" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">SRA memo</a> outlines the changes.</div><div><br></div><div><u>Employees under age 50</u>:  $19,000 is the 2019 IRS contribution maximum into a 401k and/or 403b.  Employees can also contribute up to an additional $19,000 into a 457, for a combined maximum of $38,000 in 2019.</div><div><br></div><div><u>Employees age 50 or older:</u>  $25,000 is the 2019 IRS contribution maximum into a 401k and/or a 403b.  Employees can also contribute up to an additional $25,000 in the 2019 calendar year into a 457b, for a combined maximum of $50,000 in 2019.</div><div><br></div><div><a href="https://hr.umbc.edu/benefits/retirement-information/supplemental-retirement-accounts/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Forms to change SRA contributions</a> for the first paycheck in January (1/11/2019) are due to HR by December 17, 2018.  </div><div><br></div></div>

The interface allows for a more user-friendly access to pages, processes and reports by streamlining menus items through the use of tiles and a "NavBar".
