As a result of the emergency orders issued by Governor Hogan to limit the spread of COVID-19, a campus-wide announcement was issued notifying the campus community that UMBC will be closed on Friday, March 13, 2020.  Employees should review the Full-Day Closure section of the  Administrative Leave Guidelines located on the Human Resources website (https://hr.umbc.edu/hris/timekeeping-and-leave/). As you review the guidelines for full-day closures, please be mindful of the following:

• The campus is in a status where employees should not be on site; however, if an employee is required to work, they should work remotely if the duties permit working remotely. 

• Administrative Leave is applicable to regular and Contingent II employees under the conditions outlined in the guidelines.

Due to the COVID-19 event, employees who do not earn leave may be eligible for other leave options through the University.  Detailed information and guidance will be forthcoming. If you have any questions, please email covid19hrresponseteam@umbc.edu.

Good news! The MD State Retirement & Pension Agency (MSRA) has rolled out a new online platform for all members to access their retirement information on file with the MSRA via a new online account, mySRPS.

The MSRA has mailed packets to current members' home addresses, inviting them to setup their mySRPS accounts. The packet includes a letter with a personalized registration code and a Quick Guide. The packet also includes a form for members who want to put a “security freeze” on their mySRPS account, so no one can access it online. 

Your mySRPS account allow you to:

• View your account and documents

• View your most recent Personal Statement of Benefits (PSB)

• Update your contact information

• Get retirement estimates

• Get an asset verification letter

Direct deposit allows you to have access to your paycheck in the event of an unexpected campus closure or illness. No more waiting to deposit your check, it’s done automatically. Direct Deposit is a safe and secure way to make sure you receive your check on payday. UMBC encourages all employees to have direct deposit.
