    <div class="html-content"><div>Please share with your department:</div><div><br></div><div>As we come to the close of the spring semester and head towards the summer season, employees should continue to monitor their 'use or lose' leave. Please be advised of the following:</div><div><ul><li>The <strong>maximum annual leave carry over into calendar year 2023 has reverted back to 400 hours</strong> (pro-rated for part-time employees).</li><li>The last day to use 2022 excess annual and unused personal leave is <strong>December 31, 2022</strong>.</li><li>Personal leave hours for calendar year 2023 will be available for use on January 1, 2023. </li></ul><div>Please refer to <a href="https://umbc.box.com/v/2022-Year-End-Leave-Memo" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">2022 Year End Leave Memo</a> for more year-end leave details.</div></div><div><br></div><div>Thank you.</div><div><br></div><div>Sherrell McNamara, </div><div>HRIS Manager</div></div>

<Title>Classification/Compensation Freeze (Temporary)</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div>Effective May 16 – July 15, 2022, there will be a temporary freeze on reclassification actions.  The following classification change actions are exempt from the freeze: acting capacity, operationally critical retention, and changes of vacant positions in preparation for recruitment.  As in past years, we are announcing the freeze in preparation for COLA/Merit processing.  </div><div><br></div><div>Retroactive adjustments will not be considered for changes made during the freeze period.  Therefore, we strongly recommend that supervisors refrain from changing the duties and responsibilities of staff between May 16 and July 15, 2022.  Requests submitted during the “freeze period” will be returned to the department/division for resubmission after July 15.  </div><div><br></div><div>We will do our best to complete all studies currently in our office prior to May 16.  Since that might not be possible, rest assured that we will continue reviewing and processing requests submitted prior to May 16.  </div><div><br></div></div>
