    <div class="html-content">Good news! Employees no longer need to wait until the annual enrollment period to enroll in or make changes to their <strong>USM MetLife</strong> benefits. (USM = University System of Maryland)<div><br></div><div>Starting Monday, April 1, 2024, if you are a Regular or Contingent II (C2) employee, you can enroll in the USM-sponsored MetLife Term Life insurance &amp; Long-Term Disability benefits, make changes, or cancel your benefits anytime during the year. </div><div><div><br></div><div>Already enrolled and not interested in making changes? Your current coverage will continue seamlessly; no action is required.</div></div><div><br></div><div>If you are outside of your initial 60 days of USM employment, you will need to provide <strong>evidence of insurability</strong> (medical underwriting) to be approved for USM MetLife coverages. To complete your application, look for the "Start Your Statement of Health" button during enrollment.</div><div><br></div><div>MetLife will review your application and notify you of their decision and the effective date of your coverage.</div><div><br></div><div><strong>Please note:</strong> USM MetLife coverages are <em>not </em>available in the SPS Workday system. Workday is the State's online system that administers State health benefits only.     <div class="html-content"><div><em><strong>Change happens all the time, whether we choose it, or it chooses us.</strong></em> Changes in leadership, priorities, structures and processes, like those that we have seen at UMBC, can be challenging, each initiating a transition that requires us to look beneath processes to understand the human side of change. In the end, it's our people who will make change happen and we need the right combination of knowledge, skills, and strategies, as well as a common language to understand, cope with, and adapt to change. </div><div><br></div><div>Introducing the FranklinCovey <strong>Change: How to Turn Uncertainty into Opportunity </strong>Program. This engaging learning experience will provide practical skills and strategies to help us understand and manage our reactions, learn how to navigate change both functionally and emotionally, and will introduce a model that makes the change process predictable.
