Our Division of Professional Studies and Information Systems Department jointly designed a professionals master's degree in health IT which started with its first cohort of students in Fall '14. I've had the opportunity and honor to participate in this effort from the beginning (Apr '12) working with Drs. John Martello, Chris Steele, Aryya Gangopadhyay, and served as its interim graduate program director (GPD). In November 2014, Dr. Krystl Haerian joined UMBC from Food and Drug Administration as the GPD.
You may have already heard about this new and exciting program from other channels but I wanted to emphasize it here that we can be proud of this program since it will be filling an important need in the Baltimore-Washington area.
