    <p>Prof. Marjoleine Kars recently won year-long fellowships from three prominent
    research centers for the humanities: The National Humanities Center in Research
    Triangle Park in North Carolina, the Newberry Library in Chicago, and the
    Huntington Library in San Marino, California. Prof. Kars has chosen to be an
    NEH Huntington Fellow in 2018-2019, where she will finish her book, <em>Slaves Remastered: An
    Untold Story of Rebellion, Revolution, and Restoration in the Atlantic World</em>
    (under contract with The New Press).</p>
