Here is what you need to know/do to join in on the fun:

• By Thursday, October 26th, at 11:59pm, send us two separate images: 1) a .jpeg, screenshot, etc., of the character or person you are dressing as, 2) a photo of yourself dressed as that character or person. See samples here!
• Send to honorscollege@umbc.edu with the email title: Costume Contest: Last Name
• We will compile a "ballot," open voting on Friday, October 27th, and announce the winners on Halloween! Yes, there will be PRIZES for the Best Costume in a number of different categories.

Please keep in mind that this is a family show, so to speak; also, if you have an idea but are concerned it might be an example of cultural appropriation (vs. one of cultural appreciation), ask one of us in the Honors College. We'd be happy to talk it through with you!

 So get those creative juices flowing!

Positions
1. Recurring Events Chair

• Will report directly to the External Vice President
• Will be responsible for coordinating regularly scheduled (monthly, biweekly) events hosted by the HCC, such as Lunch in the Lounge
• Should possess strong interpersonal skills and organizational abilities

2. Major Events Chair

• Will report directly to the External Vice President
• Will be responsible for leading the planning of HCC's major events, which generally occur only once or twice a semester (i.e. Trivia Bowl and Charity Gala)
• Should possess long-term task completion skills, such as as strong management, communication, and leadership abilities

3. Marketing Chair

• Will report directly to the Internal Vice President
• Will be responsible for creating all HCC marketing materials (including flyers, written announcements, and social media) for all events
• Should possess strong writing, creative, and time management skills

4. Student Involvement Chair

• Will report directly to the Internal Vice President
• Will be responsible for managing photography needs and tracking engagement at HCC events
• Should possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills

• Thursday, 9/7, 5:00 - 7:00pm: HCC's Sunset Social! Come for cupcakes and fun on Erickson Field.
• Monday, 9/11, 6:15pm: Honors College Cookout, Harbor Courtyard. The yummy menu? burgers, chicken, veggie burgers, mac-n-cheese...etc.!
• (By) Thursday, 9/14: T-Shirt Contest Designs due.
• Ongoing: Buy your tickets for Renn Fest, which is Saturday, Sept. 23rd. Click this link to purchase (and please let us know if you are having any problems with the site.)

The UMBC Review is a peer-reviewed publication, completely directed by UMBC undergraduate students. All of the articles published in the UMBC Review go through a rigorous peer review process. The Review is indebted to the anonymous off-campus faculty reviewers who volunteer their time to assure the high quality of our publication. We are proud to produce the publication in print format.

Submissions for the 25th edition are being accepted through 9/15. We invite researchers of all disciplines to submit their work to our journal then. The Review offers a rewarding opportunity to get your undergraduate research published in a peer-reviewed academic journal.
