Congratulations to Linda Wiratan '19, biochemistry and molecular biology, and member of the Honors College, on being named a Goldwater Scholar for 2018-2019. Linda has conducted research in on-campus labs directed by Professor Marcin Ptaszek, of the chemistry and biochemistry departments, and Professor Hua Lu, of the biological sciences department. Her research focuses on the natural defense systems of the plant Arabidopsis thaliana, which can contribute to our understanding of how to control diseases and develop new medicines.

The application to have your name on the ballot for HCC elections is now open! Applications will be accepted through Friday, April 13. (The election ballot will be available starting Monday, April 16 and will close Monday, April 23.)

Remember that nominating others is prohibited -- only fill out an application for yourself! Applying for multiple positions is allowed, but be sure to fill out multiple applications in that case.
