GSA Executive Board Nominations Still Needed
The Graduate Student
Association (GSA) Senate held elections for the 2014-2015 GSA Executive board
earlier this month. Three of the five executive board positions have been
filled through this process (President, Vice President, and Treasurer)
though we have had no nominations for the Historian or Vice
President for External Affairs (VP-EA) positions.
Because elections have
already passed these positions will be appointed by the new executive board,
but we'd like to maintain procedures similar to our election process, so we've
opened a second round of nominations for these positions.
For information about the roles and responsibilities of these two positions, please check the GSA Constitution. http://gsa.umbc.edu/about-gsa/constitution/#IV And ByLaws http://gsa.umbc.edu/about-gsa/bylaws/
It should be noted that each of these positions has an associated honorarium which recognizes the cost of the graduate students time commitment to the the association. More information about honorariums is in our bylaws, but the honorariums may be increased for next year’s positions.
If you choose to nominate yourself (or someone else) for Historian or the VP-EA, please send an email toGSA@UMBC.edu with the subject line "GSA EB Nomination for _____" containing the position you/they intend to run for. If you are nominating someone else please CC them on the email. The nomination email should contain your unofficial transcript and a less than 200 word statement of intent. If you could please CC this email to DJ-Miller@umbc.edu.
