With one of their financial advisors, you'll pull your credit report and walk through what it means, what you should do, and why it's important to know. </span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Do you think that you're too young to have credit? Think again - things like unpaid parking tickets and unreturned Comcast remotes can damage your credit without you knowing.     <div class="html-content">Food is allowed in AOK Library and the RLC.  Drinks are too, but in a covered container please!  We do ask that you avoid pricey equipment like photocopiers, printers, computers, microform readers, the Digital Media Lab, and Special Collections.<br><br>Spills sometimes happen - please clean up as best you can and alert library staff so they can check books and furniture for damage. Paper towels are available in the bathroom if you need them.<br><br>And when you’re finished, toss your trash in a bin!  There are several on each floor.  Happy studying!<br><br></div>

<Title>Virtual parking permits to begin in Fall 2018</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><span>Beginning in the fall of 2018, UMBC Parking Services will be transitioning to virtual permits for all parking across campus. The new system, which uses License Plate Recognition, will identify your vehicle by its license plate, removing the need for physical hangtags and allowing all permit holders to easily add and maintain multiple vehicles on their accounts.</span><br><br><span>Under the </span><a href="https://t.e2ma.net/click/vetlnb/nwtbnbb/bjzpvk" title="new parking system" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">new system</a><span>, students, faculty, and staff will be able to request parking permits electronically, streamlining the permit purchase and retrieval process and eliminating replacement fees for lost or stolen permits. Permit holders will be allowed up to three vehicles per account; however, only one vehicle at a time will be authorized to park on campus. The new system will also enhance safety and security through its integration with state and local police databases.</span><br><br><span>The decision to implement virtual permits follows a series of conversations with committees across campus in which members of the campus community shared their thoughts and feedback. OCSS student staff will serve as advocates for commuter, transfer, veteran and adult learner students on the UMBC campus. They will also assist with the retention of those students at UMBC through a series of well thought out programs and events.     <div class="html-content"><div>Congratulations to Mustafa Al-Adhami!</div><div><br></div><div>After a series of rigorous training sessions with professional 3MT coach, Scott Morgan, the 3MT competition took place between six finalists:  Michael Battaglia, Jr., Kayla Lemons, Sonya Squires-Caesar, Alex Rittle, Mustafa Al-Adhami, and Juan Valdez. Each student delivered a dynamic presentation of their thesis in under 3 minutes! </div><div><br></div><div>After a rigorous round of deliberation by the 3MT judges (members of the graduate school and alumni), the first place prize was awarded to Mustafa Al-Adhami. He will have the honor of representing UMBC at the 3MT Regional Competition! Alex Rittle was awarded second place winner. Mustafa Al-Adhami was also awarded the People's Choice Award!</div><div><br></div><div>This year's competition showcased a variety of research.
