    <strong>What is the Professional Staff Senate (PSS)? </strong>We represent you! We are the official representative body of professional, or exempt, staff employed at UMBC. What do we do? We provide a forum for discussing issues involving or of interest to exempt staff members, such as academic and administrative policies. Some of these topics have included work-life balance, campus climate, employee benefits, and state budget updates and impacts. We work diligently to maintain and contribute to community life at UMBC by organizing events for staff and volunteering for non-PSS sponsored events. Each member serves on selected subcommittees of their choosing regarding certain policies or procedures.</div>

    <div>In the 2022 primary and general elections, Maryland voters will have the option to cast their ballots either by mail or in person. The Baltimore County Board of Elections is looking for members of the UMBC community to support in-person voting as election judges. Election judges work as a team to ensure that Marylanders are able to access polling stations and cast a fair vote without undue delay or interference. These are paid positions through the Baltimore County Board of Elections.</div>

<Title>Action Needed: Participate in Spring Commencement</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><span><p><span>Dear Colleagues,</span></p>
    <br><p><span>We are excited to be planning our Spring 2022 commencement ceremonies. At this time, we anticipate that all of our ceremonies will be held in person, with virtual participation options for graduates and community members. We continue to develop a health and safety plan in partnership with campus experts that is responsive to COVID-19 infection rates in our community and the region. We plan to share more details with graduates and community members in the coming weeks. </span></p>
    <br><p><span>We will host three Spring ceremonies including a graduate ceremony on Wednesday, May 25 and two undergraduate ceremonies on Thursday, May 26. More details are below.</span></p>
    <br><p><span>Please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to attend the ceremonies in person by completing</span><a href="https://forms.gle/3v7NEaruKpPaPXf89" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>this RSVP form</span></a><span> as soon as possible. </span><span><strong>Faculty and staff who need regalia must place their order by April 18 in order to avoid a late fee.</strong></span><span>The RSVP form includes ordering instructions.  </span></p>
    <br><p><span>We are also in need of volunteers for commencement! If you are interested, please complete </span><a href="https://forms.gle/fnM92WwUKUAcpKfH6" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>our volunteer form</span></a><span> no later than May 11. We will provide training and no prior experience is necessary. The form allows you to select specific ceremonies that accommodate your schedule.</span></p>
