Retriever Integrated Health Closed on Tuesday, August 9
Due to an ongoing issue with the HVAC unit that serves Retriever Integrated Health, the physical office will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, August 9, 2022.

Staff will continue to telework and provide telehealth where appropriate.  We will post updates on hours and availability for the remainder of the week on the RIH website.

In case of an emergency,  please contact UMBC Police at 410-455-5555.

We will be discussing Intercultural Awareness, Intercultural Dialogue, and Intercultural Competence. With this training series, we hope to expand on your intercultural talents and share the knowledge, skills, and behavior necessary to function effectively and appropriately in intercultural environments to have better and more fruitful relationships in a globalized school and workplace.

If you would like additional information about what happened, I've posted a link from AWS that detailed the outage and its resolution from their side. Once it was restored from their standpoint, the vendors like Cisco and others had to bring services back online, which is why there was a delay from their fix until full service restoration.

There is a fairly major outage within the AWS (Amazon Web Services) Cloud platform that hosts many large commercial software solutions that appears to be causing these issues. 

While these large scale outages are rare, they can often last a few hours before full service is restored. We will update the community as we get more information.

Hello Graduate Students!

GAAC (Graduate Assistant Advisory Committee) is looking for committee members. We are seeking graduate students who are dedicated to the service of our beloved graduate student community, who are forward thinkers, and who have good interpersonal skills.

This is not an exhaustive list, but includes some of the responsibilities of GAAC committee members which are to:

1.  Coordinate and help arrange events.

2.   Help gather information through surveys and present survey outcomes through reports. 

3.  Attend bi-weekly meetings and/or meetings with the Graduate School when scheduled.

4.  Help circulate news/announcements in different departments at campus.
