The Neurodiversity Alliance offers over 50 paid national internship opportunities for neurodivergent students and recent graduates ages 18 to 26. Interns get the opportunity to work alongside national staff mentors and peers from across the country to advance our mission in meaningful ways, while developing core leadership and professional skills for life.
Intern roles are available in various functional areas of our organization and will include everything from marketing and social media to developing resources for our online community, to helping grow our community, or serving on our national advisory council.

All-expense paid trip to our National Neurodiversity Leadership Summit in Denver, CO on August 4-9, 2026.
Internship stipend of $3,000 for Academic Year roles ($300 a month for 10 months)

Deadline Extended for Proposals: Janet C. Rutledge Graduate Student Well-Being Award
The Graduate School invites UMBC faculty and staff (partnerships welcome) to apply for the inaugural Janet C. Rutledge Graduate Student Well-Being Award, which supports innovative, research-informed projects that promote sustainable graduate student well-being.
One proposal will be selected annually to receive up to $3,500 for programming costs and/or a stipend. Projects may address one or more areas of graduate student well-being, including sense of purpose, financial security, belonging, faculty mentoring, or student-centered academic structures. Priority will be given to projects with impact beyond the award period.
NEW Deadline to apply: February 27
Award announced: April 1
Award presented at the April 10th, 2026 GSA Awards Ceremony

GEARS and AOK Library presents Writing Accountability Groups for Spring 2026!
What are Writing Accountability Group, or WAGs at UMBC?
- What: Writing Accountability Groups (WAGs) are voluntary and facilitated by fellow UMBC graduate students.
- Who: WAGs are composed of a group of graduate students (usually 4–8 participants per group) interested in developing writing habits and accountability.
- Why: Develop habits of writing every day for a short, manageable period of time by setting goals and being accountable to WAG peers.
- When: WAG groups meet once a week for 60–90 minutes for 10–12 weeks. The group finds a weekly time mutually convenient to all group members.
- Where: The group decides on a mutually convenient location to meet, whether in person or online via WebEx or another videoconferencing platform.
