New format! This year's Career Paths for Graduate Students event is expanding beyond traditional networking to include mock interviews, resume reviews, and meaningful connections with alumni and employers who are actively seeking master's and Ph.D.-level talent.

You'll have the opportunity to:

• Practice your interview skills with real employers and receive personalized feedback.

• Get your resume reviewed by professionals from your field.

• Build relationships with alumni and recruiters from diverse industries.

Whether you're exploring options, actively job searching, or simply building confidence, this event is designed to help you take the next step in your graduate career journey.

To guarantee your seat, you must RSVP in Handshake.  This event is part of UMBC's Career Month, an opportunity for students to explore their professional options through workshops, alumni chats, industry fairs, employer site visits, and more.

*You do not need to stay for the entire time. We are allotting this time to accommodate graduate students' busy schedules.*

IMPORTANT NO SHOW TERMS: By registering for this event, you are confirming that you will be attending Career Paths for Graduate Students on Thursday, April 9, 2026. There will be no charge to UMBC students, on a first-come first-serve basis. You understand that by registering and not attending, you are preventing another UMBC student from participating and causing the Career Center and the PROMISE Program to incur monetary expenses as the sponsors of this event. Low student attendance also reflects negatively on the University and could damage our relationship with employers.

In addition, you are acknowledging that should you fail to attend this event without notifying Dr. Rowena Winkler (rbwinkler@umbc.edu) of your cancellation by 12:00 PM. EDT on Monday, April 6, 2026, your UMBC student account will be charged a fee of $25 to cover the financial costs incurred.

You're Invited to Rest & Reflect: A Social Wellness Event for Graduate Students!

• Who is invited: All University System of Maryland (USM) graduate students, which includes UMBC!

• Host: The Graduate School at the University of Maryland, College Park 

This event was designed to promote community, connection, and well-being among scholars through a variety of engaging wellness activities, including:

• Yoga, sound bath, aromatherapy, dancing, food trucks, and more!

We are currently gathering interest for the following opportunities:

• Grad Wellness Day– Monday, April 6 | 1–3 PM | Commons Main Street(tabling for departments and organizations)
• Bingo Night– Wednesday, April 8 | 5–8 PM | UC Ballroom(GSO tabling only)
• Grad Culture Day– Thursday, April 9 | 12–4 PM | UC Ballroom(tabling, performances, and cultural demonstrations)

These events are designed to foster connection, highlight resources, and celebrate the diversity of our graduate student community. Your participation plays an important role in creating an engaging and inclusive experience.

We have extended the deadline for the UMBC Annual Research Symposium to April 2nd, 11AM! Featuring poster presentations showcasing research from all colleges at UMBC, this is a great opportunity to share ideas, engage with research from across campus, and connect with fellow scholars.
