Apply by tomorrow to earn a summer job, includes a salary, gain teaching skills and practice, and walk away with TWO levels of a nationally recognized teaching certification!</div><div><br></div><div>Full program details and announcement can be accessed <a href="https://my3.my.umbc.edu/groups/gspd/posts/152015" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">here.</a> The application <strong>deadline is September 19, 2025.</strong></div><div><br></div>ALL current graduate students at UMBC interested in obtaining teaching experience to apply to be a <a href="https://gspd.umbc.edu/sea-cirtl-fellows/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">SEA CIRTL Fellow</a> for the Summer Enrichment Academy (SEA) and the CIRTL programs at UMBC. SEA provides <em>one-week class</em> for middle and high school students on UMBC Campus. These classes help kids to stay engaged, have fun learning new skills, and get excited about higher education at UMBC. The kickoff meeting is on 10/03/2025 from 11am - 12pm at ILSB 230 (virtual option also available). Light refreshments will be provided! <div><br></div><div>Click <a href="https://my3.my.umbc.edu/groups/gearsgsa/posts/152510/4b765/cb038a9eb04b6ab2d3deb456c06e0c6a/web/link?link=https%3A%2F%2Fmeet.google.com%2Fxoa-jrde-ada" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">here</a> to join this meeting virtually. </div><div><br></div><div><h6>What are Writing Accountability Group, or WAGs at UMBC?</h6><ul><li><p>What: Writing Accountability Groups (WAGs) are voluntary and facilitated by fellow UMBC graduate students</p></li><li><p>Who: WAGs are comprised of a group of graduate students (usually 4-8 participants per group) interested in developing writing habits and accountability </p></li><li><p>Why: Develop habits of writing every day for a short, manageable period of time by setting goals and being accountable to WAG peers </p></li><li><p>When: WAG groups meet once a week for 60-90 minutes for 10-12 weeks. Culture builders are actors who intentionally seek to foster a positive and productive environment.</p><p>Especially during times of deep societal polarization and loss of shared humanity, an inclusive and equitable culture benefits and requires everyone; we all have a role to play in building the culture we want to see.</p><p>The Culture Builders series will host a keynote and set of community conversations each semester focused on connecting community and culture across difference. The series is designed to engage topics and ideas grounded in shared community values, beliefs, and practices that pull us closer to a more loving and just campus.
