Hello Graduate Program Directors and Coordinators:
You have been identified as a survey respondent for the Peterson’s Annual Survey of Graduate and Professional Institutions 2016. The Peterson survey is the first step in recruiting the students who will be best served by your unit or program. The enclosed survey has your 2015 responses already filled in. The Graduate Survey is can be accessed via their online survey Website listed below.
If
you’ve completed this survey in the past, the first thing you
will notice after logging in is that we are using a new online survey platform this season. We
believe this will allow respondents easier access when completing the surveys (See attached instructions pdf). What hasn’t changed? The
Graduate data Peterson has on file for your program/department will still appear on the survey. So please review the information for accuracy and
make any necessary changes.
The deadline for this survey is April 8, 2016. To meet this deadline we would like you to complete your online surveys as soon as possible. If you are not the right person to provide the data for the units listed on the enclosed survey, please contact Dr. Wendy Carter-Veale in the Graduate School directly. She can be reached via email at drcarter@umbc.edu.
Surveys for programs and departments in the College of Engineering and Information Technology (COEIT) will be filled out by Karen Mattingly in the Dean’s office.

Please review and update the information listed for your college, program, and or department. Note that you might have to fill out 2 separate forms for your department and the program even if the information is exactly the same.
I prepared the attached Excel file “ Peterson2016 Survey version 2.xls” to help you. Itprovides the updated summary data for your college, program and or department. Included are five separate worksheets, which provide enrollment information by Gender, Tuition-status, Race, Age, Assistantships, and Applications.

The data that you provide on this questionnaire will be used to create FREE
institutional and program profiles that will appear in Peterson’s
Graduate and Professional Programs Reference Series. This definitive
six-volume guide to postbaccalaureate programs is the standard reference work
in its field and a key publication for reaching potential students for your
school via consumer, library, and guidance counselor markets. In
addition, profile data for your institution will appear on the Graduate
Programs channel of Petersons.com, which attracts 6
million annual visitors, as well as on various partner sites such as the
Department of Defense, where your school’s information is available to an
additional 5.9 million active military service members, their families, DoD
civilian employees, and retired service members.
Please take note that the survey
format redesign allowed us to group like-minded questions more closely
together, so question numbers from years past may have changed. And in a
few instances, we have added some new follow-up questions to clarify responses
to the availability of part-time graduate programs and online graduate
offerings.
Thank you for participating in Peterson’s
Annual Survey of Graduate and
Professional Institutions 2016. Please complete the online survey forms by April
8, 2016. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the
Graduate Survey staff by phone at 800-338-3282, Ext. 53205, or via e-mail at grad@petersons.com.
Sincerely,
Kenneth K. Britschge
