GB UMBC has had a fantastic year of growth and successful brigade trips. As we have completed election season and a fun and informative GB Week celebration, it's time to look forward to starting anew and kicking off the 2015-2016 brigade season!
Have you gone on a brigade before and want to go again? Are you ready to experience your first brigade? Are you interested in going on a trip with a different brigade program? If you are saying yes to any of these questions, read on!
This upcoming year we will be offering brigades for the following programs:
- Medical Brigades
- Dental Brigades
- Public Health Brigades
- Human Rights/Microfinance Hybrid Brigades
- Environmental Brigades
Generally, what do you have to do to do to join a brigade?
- Follow/become a member of our myUMBC page for updates
- Fill out the GB application and rank your top 3 programs of interest (from the ones listed above)
- If accepted to one of your top 3 programs (you can only be a part of one program per year), you will then sign a program contract which outlines member responsibilities for that program
- Attend pre-brigade planning and education meetings
- Help fundraise for your brigade
- Meet payment deadlines
Applications will be available via myUMBC, look out for a post in the next few days about the application's availability. The deadlines for the application are as follows:
- Priority Deadline: May 26th 11:59PM
- Final Deadline: September 9th 11:59PM
We will be posting about upcoming information sessions for these programs where you can learn more about each program's project in-country, where and when they'll be traveling, cost, and commitment expectations.
