<Title>Looking for a Fall Semester Internship?</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Application Deadline: 15 July</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>The Baltimore City Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs' <span>Academic Internship Program (ACIP)</span> offers a unique opportunity for student to gain professional experience, build skills through practical application, and obtain educational credits to be applied towards their major/minor at their academic institution. </span></span></span></span><span><span><span>Interns will work on projects that are social-impact focused, and the primary goal of the internship is to offer young professionals interested in public service an opportunity to expand their networks and gain exposure to careers in local government. This is a 12-week, un-paid internship that provides current students and recent graduates with an opportunity to work directly with the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs and receive academic credits for their academic institution.</span></span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span>Interested candidates are encouraged to select specific focus area of interest for best placement. Descriptions for focus areas are below.</span></p><h3><span><span><span><span><span>Focus Areas</span></span></span></span></span></h3><ul><li><span><span>Community Outreach</span></span><ul><li><span>Identify new community partners and facilitate better relationships among community organizations in-person and virtually</span></li><li><span><span><span><span>Conduct outreach activities with immigrant community groups and attend community events, which often taking place during evenings and weekends.</span></span></span></span></li><li><span>Provide support on biweekly community stakeholder call and group meetings.</span></li></ul></li><li><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Communications &amp; Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Engagement</span></span></span></span></span></span></span><ul><li><span><span><span><span>Support with social media content creation, management, and strategy for reaching immigrant and limited English proficient communities.</span></span></span></span></li><li><span><span><span><span>Collaborate with staff in copywriting, graphic design, and consistency with City branding guidelines.</span></span></span></span></li><li><span><span><span><span>Support with AAPI community engagement efforts, including logistics support for a monthly advisory committee.</span></span></span></span></li></ul></li><li><span>Operational &amp; Administrative Support</span><ul><li><span><span><span><span>Provide logistical support to the deputy director of MIMA on a day-to-day basis.</span></span></span></span></li><li><span><span><span><span>Support with planning ongoing annual programs, projects, and in-person events.</span></span></span></span></li><li><span><span><span><span>Occasionally, work with Language Access Coordinator to communicate updated information related to language access resources with the public.</span></span></span></span></li></ul></li><li><span>Policy &amp; Procedures</span><ul><li><span><span><span><span>Assist with research, analysis, written materials, and monitoring activities related to immigration policy and regulations.</span></span></span></span></li><li><span><span><span><span>Work with the founding director of MIMA to provide support on special projects.</span></span></span></span></li><li><span><span><span>Perform administrative tasks as assigned (creating spreadsheets &amp; presentations, compiling &amp; organizing documents using OneDrive, data entry, etc.)<span><span><strong>.</strong><br><br><strong>Application Deadline</strong></span></span></span></span></span> <br>September-November Internships: 15 July<br>For more information, visit: <a href="https://mima.baltimorecity.gov/academic-internships" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">https://mima.baltimorecity.gov/academic-internships</a></li></ul></li></ul></div>

This 3 credit course will meet Summer Session 1 (4 weeks: 30 May-June 23) in hybrid format Thursday evenings from 4:30-7 </span>and is perfect for those who haven't yet had the chance to go abroad of haven't yet solidified their plans to go abroad; it serves as an alternate path to meeting the GLBL Study Abroad requirement! Still hoping to go abroad next Spring or later? Not sure about your study abroad plans at this time?  You can still take this course as one of your GLBL electives, and it provides an excellent foundation in the cross-cultural competencies that will serve you well in your future travels.<div><br></div>This course is taught through an experiential learning framework, the goal of which is to enhance global competence skills and instill a spirit of civic engagement in Global Studies majors. <Title>Albrecht Fellowship Program Now Accepting Applications</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><p><strong><span>Seeking goal-oriented, driven, professional, open-minded students with a passion for global work! </span></strong></p><p><strong><span><br></span></strong></p><p><span>The Albrecht Fellowship Program is designed to prepare Maryland college students for the competitive job market upon graduating. By leveraging a </span><span><a href="https://wtci.org/membership/network" title="https://wtci.org/membership/network" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>vast regional network</span></a><span>, 30 top students from various universities around the region will have the opportunity to visit several different global companies and meet with top leaders and executives, jumpstarting their professional network. Albrecht Fellows will also be invited to attend select WTCI events.</span></span><span></span></p><p><span>  </span><span></span></p><p><em><span>The fellowship takes place August 16-25, 2023. Students will get an inside look at how different organizations work and make the professional connections needed to stand out in the competitive job market.     <div class="html-content"><p>The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute is seeking applicatns for their Fall Global Leaders Internship Program! This semester-long internship program features placement in Congressional and corporate legislative affairs offices. Students will gain educational and hands-on experience with project-based public policy programs. <br><br>Undergraduates gain educational and hands-on experience in this paid, semester-long internship. Students from around the US spend half a semester in the DC offices of a member of Congress followed by an assignment in a corporate partners’ government affairs office. All majors are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must be enrolled at a 4-year college or university or recent college graduate, available to complete the entire program, and able to verify their identity/eligibility to work in the United States. Students also receive a monthly living stipend and housing on Capitol Hill.
