Join us for an exciting group hike on Saturday, February 18th, at 11:00 AM! We'll be exploring the beautiful Patapsco Valley State Park Hilton area and taking a 2-mile round trip loop hike with stunning scenic views.

To make the experience enjoyable for everyone, snacks and water will be provided. We also encourage you to bring a light meal as we may have a picnic-style lunch. Additionally, subs may be available for purchase.

Please make sure to dress appropriately for the cold weather, including warm layers and hiking shoes.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled for everyone's safety.

We'll be carpooling from the UMBC stadium lot, meeting at 10:30 AM and departing at 10:45 AM. Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors with GESCoM!

Did you know that up to 1 billion birds die from window strikes in the U.S each year, over 5,000 of which have been found in Baltimore City since 2008? 
GES 400's Wildlife Field Techniques class is interested in collecting some data on bird strikes on UMBC campus. If you encounter a deceased or stunned bird on campus, please email Dr. Studds (studdsc@umbc.edu) with a picture of the bird, location it was found, and time and day it was found.
