    <div class="html-content"><p><span>The Albin O. Kuhn Library &amp; Gallery (AOK) has many resources besides the physical texts you can check out in person and the digital ones you can access online:</span></p><ul><li><span>You can request texts not already available from the USM (University System of Maryland) for free from </span><a href="https://umbc.illiad.oclc.org/illiad/logon.html" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>Interlibrary Loan</span></a><span> (but please don’t abuse this service – it is costly for the university).</span></li><li><span>You can make fast, high-quality scans (such as searchable PDFs) for free from </span><a href="https://library.umbc.edu/printcopyscan.php#scan" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>the easy-to-use scanners on the ground floor of AOK</span></a><span>.</span></li><li><span>You can check out audio/video equipment for free from </span><a href="https://library.umbc.edu/media/dml.php" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>the Digital Media Lab on the second floor of AOK</span></a><span>.</span></li><li><span>You can use the software installed on the library computers for free, and some software is also “available through </span><a href="https://wiki.umbc.edu/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=41190286" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>remote login</span></a><span> from any computer, smartphone or tablet, whether inside or outside the library.” Check the website for all </span><a href="https://library.umbc.edu/computers.php" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>available software</span></a><span>.</span></li><li><span>There are reservable  </span><a href="https://library.umbc.edu/studyspaces.php" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>spaces for studying, group work, lockers and lactation rooms</span></a><span> in the AOK as well.</span></li></ul></div>

    <div class="html-content"><p><span>Did you know that Graduate Assistants are eligible for the Faculty Meal Plans? These meals do not expire and cost less per meal than the student plans ($6.95-$8.70 per meal depending on the plan selected). </span></p><p><span>Meals in your plan can be used almost everywhere there is food sold on campus - even at the Peake (Chesapeake Employers' Insurance Arena)! Look for a sign indicating what menu items are eligible and included in a meal.</span></p><p><span>Faculty Meals can even be used at Dunkin!     <div class="html-content"><span><p><span>The Legislative Concerns Committee (informally called the LCC) was established to coordinate the advocacy efforts on state and federal legislation pertaining to graduate students, in addition to supporting students to recognize their larger role in the political process. The LCC is one of the five Graduate Student Association (GSA) standing committees. With approximately 48% of the graduate student body being international grad</span><span>uate students, the LCC is equally concerned with supporting on and off-campus initiatives that support international graduate students. The LCC partners with five primary organizations to promote political and civil engagement, and provide resources to meet graduate student needs. Our on-campus partnerships include <a href="https://womenscenter.umbc.edu/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">The Women's Center</a>,</span><span><a href="https://shrivercenter.umbc.edu/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">The Shriver Center</a></span><span>, </span><span><a href="https://civiclife.umbc.edu/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Center for Democracy and Civic Life</a></span><span>, </span><span><a href="https://retrieveressentials.umbc.edu/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Retriever Essentials</a></span><span>, and the Graduate Assistant Advisory Committee (GAAC). Off-campus, the Legislative Concerns Committee helps to voice graduate student concerns to the local community, representing them for neighborhood relations in Catonsville and Arbutus. We are delighted to announce that Graduate School Deans are joining us for our first GA Town Hall for this academic year. GAAC serves as a dedicated platform for GAs to express their concerns effectively.
