Dear Senators,

You might recall that in fall 2021, the Faculty Senate Executive Committee gathered information on how faculty across the colleges were managing their teaching workloads as well as any classroom challenges that they encountered. We presented that data to the senate and the administration as part of an ongoing conversation to support faculty. 

So much has happened in the past three semesters, on campus and in the world,  and the EC would like to collect some comparative data to understand how everyone is managing since the fall 2021 return to campus. To that end,  we created a survey with a combination of questions, including multiple choice, Likert scale and free-response. Faculty who are short on time are encouraged to fill in what they can or to reach out to their senator or a colleague who can gather their feedback to send to us. I'd be happy to collect the latter via email (mcdonoug@umbc.edu).

The deadline for completing this survey is Tuesday, May 16th (last day of classes) at 5 p.m.

Here is the information to join the October Faculty Senate meeting. In addition to the regularly scheduled reports, Jill Wardell will be presenting on Workplace Learning and Wellness and Karl Steiner will present on Research and Creative Activities on campus.
