Financial literacy has become increasingly important as we prepare our students for successful futures. President Hrabowski has reinforced the importance of financial literacy in ensuring the wellness of all members of our campus community. The UMBC Financial Literacy Workgroup has developed a wealth of educational resources including Financialsmarts.umbc.edu to promote and support financial wellness.
Our next step is the development of a directory of on-campus experts who can present on related topics (e.g., managing bank accounts, living on a budget, credit, starting a career, basic investing) to interested groups. We encourage you to consider sharing your expertise with our students. The time commitment is yours to decide.
