First Aid and CPR Training
Here’s some details on this Monday’s (May 15th 2017) First Aid and CPR training. Contact Craig at craig.mogren@montgomerycollege.edu if you want to join in.
Instructor is Barry Collier, retire police officer and academy trainer. He is certified to teach all levels of first aid, including wilderness first aid.
Cost is $50 total per person for the class and certification in both CPR/AED and First Aid. The First Aid will be augmented for the type of conditions we’re likely to find in the field. Unless you can get paid from work, it’s a really good deal.
It is in Science Center SC406 at the Rockville Campus of Montgomery College at 6:30-9. Please be prompt so we can be finish before late.
If you are driving and need to park, you can park in any of the student lots for free without any tags. Do not park in the staff/faculty lots.

May 7th Volunteering Opportunity!
Reaching out into our community to make a difference!
Our next volunteering date is Sunday, May 7th, we'll be helping at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Halethorpe. We'll be meeting at 9:15 at the commons loop and should return to campus no later than 4. It should be a lot of fun! This Wednesday at FREE HOUR we will be having our next GBM in ITE 241. We will leave at 12:25pm as a group to the Reverse Career Fair. Please bring your red student ID to sign in.
Here are the important Reverse Career Fair Details:
Fair Hours: 12:30pm – 3:30pm
Location: University Center (Ballroom)
Student Organization Check-In Opens: 11:30am (please bring your student ID to sign in)
Employers will be judging the Best Booth contest. The criteria are listed below.
Did the booth represent the purpose/objective of the organization?
- Were the accomplishments of the organization clearly defined?
- Were the student representatives articulate and engaging?
- Did the booth have an element of appeal that attracted you?
Employers that attend the Reverse Career Fair will be able to access a resume book of all student org. participants. Please ensure that any student org. members that would like their resume available to employers have an approved resume in UMBCworks.

GBM next Wednesday and help needed for Scavenger Hunt

Next Wednesday in ITE 241 at Free Hour we will be holding an official general body meeting. We have a lot to talk about regarding the Costa Rica project and recapping the Scavenger Hunt, so be sure not to miss it!
We need volunteers to help set up and run the Engineers Week Scavenger Hunt that we are hosting. Volunteers will be trained by officers prior to the event. If you are interested, please contact our president at

We are seeking donations of gravel and plastic water bottles as pieces of the water filtration unit participants will be assembling during the Scavenger Hunt. If you would like to donate,

GBM 4/13/16 at Noon
Hey guys!
We will be having a GBM this week in Engineering 335 during free hour. We have
some exciting news, so make sure you're there to hear it!
Two quick things to keep in mind before the meeting:
1) We will be having chapter elections on April 27! If you are interested in
running for any position, please send DeeDee a slide detailing why you would
be a good choice by April 20th. You will need to give a quick 1 - 2 minute
speech from your slide to the chapter on the 27th, and voting will take place
that day. If you have any questions or just want some more information, don't
hesitate to reach out to us!
2) Hollie is compiling member profiles to use on social media to help build
our web presence! If you know someone who you think should be interviewed, or
would like to be interviewed yourself, let her know or talk to her on
Wednesday.
