It's that time - Our travel application for our upcoming assessment trip is now open. We will be sending 5 students to San Rafael, Costa Rica. Find the application here!

Since timing is tight, this application is due this upcoming Wednesday, December 5th.  Submission instructions are at the top of the form. 

We're excited to finalize our travel team so we can more forward with our project!

In addition, we have created a project summary sheet to help familiarize you with the basics of our project in Costa Rica. It's really important that our members know about the project moving into next semester, as we will be entering the design phase of the project. Check the summary sheet out here.

We do have committee meetings this upcoming week that will be posted as events on myUMBC:

Grant Writing and Research: Tuesday 4-5pm, Commons 327. 

Public Relations and Volunteer: Wednesday 12-1pm, ITE 239. 

We had a great semester and we are looking forward to the next one! Travel applications will be going out soon, and we hope to have our travel team chosen ASAP.

Our last GBM of the fall semester is tomorrow from 12-1 in ITE 239!

We will be running through our main takeaways from the EWB National Conference, talking about our big plans for next semester, and making sure all members have a clear understanding of the project before winter break arrives.

Our custom ink fundraiser only has two days remaining! So far we have sold 19 items and raised $210. 

If you haven't gotten your EWB gear yet, now's your chance. Hoodies are $30, and long sleeves are $20. We appreciate everyone's support, plus we'll all look great showing off our EWB swag.

Also, it would be super helpful if you could share the link to the fundraiser on Facebook, Twitter, and with friends and family. Every bit helps!

Don't forget we have a meeting tomorrow at 12 in ITE 239! It'll be jam packed meeting with some guest speakers and some guest attendees. The Society for Hispanic Professional Engineers will be joining us, as well as potentially some Tau Beta Pi members. 

We will have speakers discussing opportunities in the Peace Corps as well as with the Grand Challenges Scholars Program. There will be pizza and giveaways also!

We will be having our fall workshop and social on Saturday, November 17th. We are going to meet in PAHB 107 at 2:00 pm for a project management workshop led by one of our professional mentors, then after the workshop we will be heading over to Shadowland laser tag in Columbia. 

The cost of laser tag will be about $16 per person, depending on the number of people who attend. Sign up here by November 14th and pay by November 16th via Venmo (Username on sign up sheet)! Venmo is preferred, but if you need to pay cash bring it to our GBM on the 14th. 

This should be a lot of fun, and we hope to see all of our members there :)

Do you want to get more involved with the Costa Rica Project? Are you interested in traveling for assessment this January? If yes, fill out our Project Team Application!

The purpose of the application is to confirm your interest in joining the EWB project team. As a project team member, you will be more involved in project related tasks such as project planning, mapping, research, and more. It will also opt you in to our member point system, where we will track your chapter involvement based on points awarded for different meetings, events, and work that you've done for the chapter. This allows us to know which members we can count on to help us be successful in our project and on trips. 

The travel team will be selected from the project team at a later date, so if you are interested in travel you must fill this out! (If you want to work on the project but are not interested in travel that's fine too)

Please fill this out as soon as possible, or by November 14th at the latest.

Tau Beta Pi is hosting an Engineering Org social this Friday from 4:30-7pm in the Commons game room. TBP is providing pizza, but it is a potluck so if you are able to cook or bring anything, sign up on this sheet. 

This should be a fun event and a good chance to meet other engineering orgs on campus! Hope to see you there
