We are excited to hear all about this trip when our travel team members return to campus, and looking forward to start the design phase of this project! Assessment Trip - Day 4
Wednesday, 3/20: Half of our travel team hiked along the community’s water distribution system while the other half interviewed some community members about water usage in their homes. The team also learned some Spanish slang from a community member and taught her some English slang. The people of San Rafael have been so welcoming and helpful throughout the trip!

Our assessment team has officially made it to Costa Rica! We’re excited to see how we can best help the community of San Rafael. 5 students, one mentor, and a UMBC professor are all members of the team.

Hey EWB,
Thank you to everyone who came out to Boot Camp yesterday, we presented a bunch of useful info and got some great feedback on how to improve the event for next year.
Below are the links to the slides from Boot Camp with some notes in the "speaker notes" sections for some clarification. Please check it our if you weren't able to make it. There's also a link to our "Project Summary Sheet" which has a pretty short and sweet summary of our Costa Rica Project. This is super helpful to review to be able to explain our project to potential members, contributors, or even employers.

Want to be a part of the discussion for our Costa Rica chapter project?
It is a great opportunity to meet mentors and become involved in project decisions.
Our first meeting is tomorrow! February 27th!! From 6:30-8!! Stay tuned for a location. We’re going to be discussing project details and plans for the assessment trip.
The second meeting is going to be March 13th from 6:30 to 8. This will be located in Commons 332. This project meeting will involve finalizing assessment data collection protocols and discussing the water tank design.
