We will start planning for next semester soon and are considering some new ideas. We want to know your perspective so that we can organize our chapter to work the best for all members. We made an anonymous survey to streamline this process and we want to hear from everyone- whether you are very involved, came to one meeting, or are planning to join in the spring. If you are newer not all the questions may apply so just answer the ones that you can!

We have quite a few events coming up this week.

Firstly, this Wednesday (11/18) we will be having a our final GBM of the semester, which will be held at noon through Google Meet, NOT Discord. One of our mentors, Christopher Riley, will be talking to us about his past projects and experiences working for EWB-USA, and afterwards we will be doing a small group activity!

This Friday (11/20) we have two events coming up. The first is a project meeting with our mentoring team, which will be held through Google Hangouts at 5pm. During this meeting we will be going over recent project updates and getting input from our mentoring team. After this meeting, we will be having our first virtual game night at 7pm on Discord! We will be playing Among Us, but all members are welcome to attend and just hang out.

Tomorrow (10/28) we will be hosting a GBM on our Discord server. During the GBM, members will be playing a game of Jeopardy! Whoever correctly answers the most trivia questions about EWB and Costa Rica will receive an Engineers Without Borders T-shirt!

This upcoming Thursday (10/29), we will also be hosting a Halloween Movie Night at 8 pm. Voting is still open on our Discord server for what movie we will be watching, so if you haven't voted yet go check it out! A link for the Movie Night will be provided in our Discord server Thursday afternoon.

We hope your midterms are going well and that you're finding some time to relax amongst all of your obligations! 

We are having a work session tomorrow 10/21 at noon on our discord server. We're going to be talking about recent updates from our NGO, working on our implementation report, solidifying a new project timeline, and planning fun events for upcoming meetings. Come join us if you have the time!

We are also having a project meeting this Friday (10/23) at 5 pm on Google Hangouts. During this meeting we will be updating our mentors on project progress and receiving their advice on our project timeline, chlorinator alternatives, and community communications.

Our first bootcamp is happening tomorrow (9/23) from 12-1 on Discord. Join us to learn more about EWB-USA and the project process! During bootcamp we will also be sharing the form to vote for EWB's First Year Representative.

Hello everyone!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and visited us during Involvement Fest. It was exciting to meet a lot of new people virtually. We are excited and looking forward to working with everyone this semester.

Our first GBM will take place tomorrow(9/15) from 12 pm to 1 pm. GBMs will be hosted on Discord so please join us at this link provided in this post, In our first GBM, we are going to be welcoming our new members, talk about the club goals for the semester, tell you how you could get involved, and get to know one another. 

We would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to our project meeting that will be taking place on September 21, 2020, at 7 pm. Here is the link. During this meeting, we meet with our mentors, update them on project progress, and seek their advice on engineering and project-related materials.

This is just a reminder that Involvement fest is tomorrow from 12 - 2 pm. Here is the link to come and join us in our virtual room.

First GBM: 12-1pm on Wed Sept 16th 

Boot Camp: 12-1pm on Wed Sept 23rd & 30th, Oct 7th 

Boot Camp is training sessions about our water supply project in Costa Rica so that newer members can be brought up to speed. After Boot Camp, we will be alternating work sessions and GBMs, with GBMs being every 3rd week.

Work sessions: 12-1pm on Wed Oct 14th & 21st, Nov 4th & 11th, Nov 25th & Dec 2nd

Other GBMs: 12-1pm on Wed Oct 28 & Nov 18

These meetings will all be held on our Discord (https://discord.gg/cg4sKGC). GBMs and Boot Camp will be in the "meeting hall" under the General Body Meeting tab. Work sessions will start under the tab "work session #1", then split into groups.

We will also have informal work sessions on Fridays 2:30-3:30pm, starting this week (Sep 4th) until the end of Boot Camp. This is completely optional but our project still needs to have work done that cannot wait until October (when the official work sessions start). We will also have project meetings with our mentors around once a month, and we will make a separate post with the dates for each one as they are determined.
