We are excited to announce that we have our first social event planned for this upcoming Wednesday (4/21) from 12-1 on our Discord server. We are planning on playing some Jackbox games like Quiplash, Trivia Murder Party, or Tee K.O, and we hope you'll join us for this fun activity since finals are rapidly approaching!

We also have two events coming up this Friday (4/23). The first is an informal work session from 1-2 on our Discord server, and the second is a Project Meeting with our mentoring team! The Project Meeting will take place from 5-6pm on Google Meet, where we will be providing our mentors updates on the work we have completed this past month.

We hope to see you at one or all of our meetings this week!

As you're already aware, we have elections for next year's executive board coming up tomorrow! The Google Form will be released on our Discord during our regular meeting time. Many of the candidates will be in attendance, and each person will be given the opportunity to discuss their qualifications and why they believe they should be elected!

We're having our second GBM of the semester today on Discord! The topic for today is Ethical Consumerism. If you are interested in educating yourself a bit more on what ethical consumerism means and strategies for being a more ethical consumer, feel free to join us at noon. We'll have a Kahoot session at the end of the presentation as well!

It's that time of Spring semester. Time for *drum roll*..... elections for next year's executive board! Our elections will be open on April 7th at noon and close at midnight. Every e-board position is open, see below the description of each role if you're interested in running.

President: Serves as EWB-UMBC's official representative; communicates with the mentor team, community, NGO, EWB-USA, and other organizations; manages project and technical or logistical deliverables; develops schedule and timeline; ensures the club is on track to complete goals

Vice President: Manages chapter operations, e-board meetings, and is involved heavily in project design. Works closely with the president 

Treasurer: Interacts with SGA, seeks sponsors for the project, manages accounts and budgets for the chapter, and assists with fundraising.

Secretary: Organizes and promotes meetings via myUMBC and Discord, keeps track of attendance and meeting notes, and assists with GBM planning and social media.

Technical chair: Oversees project-related research, runs work sessions, and is in charge of submitting official documents through Volunteer Village.

Public Relations chair: Promotes events using social media and flyers, assists in planning campus outreach events, and leads booth at Involvement Fest.

Fundraising chair: Assists treasurer in seeking out sponsors, applying for grants, and organizing other fundraising activities.

Volunteer chair: Plan volunteering events during the semester for EWB members to participate in.

If you are interested in running for a position, please send an email to umbc.ewb@gmail.com stating what position(s) you would like to run for, a photo of yourself, and a powerpoint slide detailing your experience and why you should be elected. Newer members are highly encouraged to apply for a position AND you are able to run for more than one position if you want to!

We are happy to announce that the first draft of our Implementation Report is finally complete! Thanks to all that have been regularly attending meetings and helping us to finish that document, now we can proceed to make edits to the report and submit to EWB-USA for review.

We would also like to announce that we are having two meetings this Friday (3/26). The first is an informal work session from 1-2pm on our Discord, and the second is a Project Meeting from 5-6pm on Google Hangouts! We will be going over the mentors' feedback on our Implementation Report and giving them some other important updates. Feel free to join us for either meeting if you are able.

We've extended our Gristarter for an additional week (until 3/12) because we have yet to reach our fundraising goal of $5000 dollars. We are currently at roughly 20% of our goal, so please continue to promote our Gritstarter if you are able!
