State of Maryland Changes to Retirement Prescription Plans Updated on 9/16/2019 Recently, the State of Maryland Department of Budget and Management (DBM)  mailed a certified letter (attached - State Letter) to eligible employees and retirees to make them aware of changes to the Retiree Prescription Program. We felt it was important to ensure that all UMBC staff members are aware of these potential changes to retirement prescription plans.

The goal is to send every person home with a care kit, and that's where you come in. 

If you want to help, drop off a care kit(s) at the Shriver Center between now and July 23. 

Kits should include:
  • Toiletry items: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, deodorant, razor, toothpaste, toothbrush (full-size preferred)
  • Socks
  • Soft snacks, e.g. breakfast and cereal bars
  • Other potential items include: feminine hygiene products, lip balm, mouthwash

The Community Picnic, hosted by the Professional Staff and Non-Exempt Staff Senates takes place on Friday, June 7 and is open to the entire UMBC Community.  The event will feature classic BBQ food, door prizes, 50/50 raffle, and more!

PSS has arranged for free, 10-minute, seated massages for staff members. Last
semester the slots filled up almost immediately, so don't wait!
If you were fortunate enough to have a massage last semester, please give others the opportunity to enjoy one.

10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (noon – 1:00 p.m. lunch break)
