<Title>Funding Opportunity for Arts Integration</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><span>UMBC has received a generous gift from the Charlesmead Foundation to fund partnerships between full-time faculty/staff/graduate students, K-8 Title 1 Baltimore City schools, and local arts organizations. Full-time faculty/staff/graduate students are eligible to submit proposals for projects that introduce new or strengthen existing arts programming for K-8 Title 1 Baltimore City students. Examples of previous and current projects may be found </span><a href="https://cahss.umbc.edu/charlesmeadinitiative/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">here</a><span>.</span><br><br><span>What if you don't have a current connection with a school or an organization? Not a problem! On Thursday, February 20th, from 4:30-6pm, there will be a free networking mixer (exact location on UMBC campusTBD) with city school teachers and arts organizations. You will be able to hear the needs and resources of these potential partners, float ideas that you may currently have, and together brainstorm ways to serve local youth with quality arts education experiences. <Title>2020 UMBC Suits You:  Professional Clothing Drive</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><p><strong>"UMBC Suits You" is collecting new and gently used professional clothing as part of Career Month.</strong></p><p>Students will have the opportunity to learn about dressing professionally and will then be able to select one free outfit to use in their job search. We are asking staff, faculty, alumni, and affiliates to donate new and gently used professional interview attire clothing at collection bins around campus from <strong>February 18th - March 3rd</strong>.</p><p><strong>Starting February 18th, Professional Clothing can be dropped off at the following on-campus locations:</strong></p><ul><li>Career Center, Math/Psych, Room 201, 8:30am-5pm</li><li>Financial Services, Administration Building, 4th Floor in the Lobby, M-F 8:30am-4:30pm.</li><li>Division of Professional Studies, Sherman Hall East-4th Floor (reception area near elevators), M-F 9am – 4pm.</li><li>The Shriver Center, Public Policy, M-F, 8:30am-5pm.</li><li>The Mosaic Center, The Commons 2B23, Monday: 9:30am - 5pm<br>Tuesday - Thursday: 9:30am - 6pm<br>Friday: 10am - 5pm</li><li>CWIT, ITE452, M-F 9am-4 pm</li><li>Student Conduct and Community Standards, Student Development and Success Center, M-F 9am-5pm</li><li><strong>NEW!</strong> OCA Mocha, 5410 East Dr, Arbutus, MD 21227, M-F 6am-10pm, Sat 8am-10pm, Sun 8am-3pm</li></ul><strong>Items that will be accepted:</strong><span> dresses, shell tops, button-up shirts and blouses, skirts, blazers, dress pants, garment bags, belts, ties, skirt suits and suits.</span><div><strong><br></strong></div><div><strong>Items that will NOT be accepted:</strong> jewelry, handbags, shoes, and general accessories. For more information on accepted items, check out the link <a href="https://umbc.app.box.com/s/h46cvlck6rpxv3gp5sxw" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">here</a>.</div><div><br><p>Clothing donations will be used to benefit UMBC students and will not be considered as gift-in-kind or donation to UMBC.     <div class="html-content"><div><div><span>Dear University Partners: </span><br></div><div><br></div><div>We are continuing to <strong>accept students to our full continuum of Substance Use Disorder treatment services, including an Intensive Outpatient Program (9 hrs/week) and Outpatient Program (3-6 hrs/week). </strong><br><ul><li><strong>Mental Health IOP and OP Program beginning March 2020: </strong>To accommodate a larger range of student needs, we are excited to announce an expanded offering to include a Primary Mental Health OP (3-6 hrs/week) and IOP (9 hrs/week) Program to supplement our growing Substance Use Disorder OP/IOP Program beginning in March 2020. We will keep you informed prior to our launch!<br><br></li><li><strong>Weekly Recovery Meetings and Social Activities: </strong>Student-led All Recovery Meetings have resumed along with a schedule of substance free social events at The Haven Outpatient Center. <em>ALL </em>students are welcome!     <div class="html-content"><p>Full details can be found <a href="https://provost.umbc.edu/staffawards/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">HERE</a></p><p>Is there someone:</p><ul><li>In your department who is doing a superior job?</li><li>On campus who is exceptionally talented and dedicated?</li><li>Who is truly outstanding and always there to help solve a problem or take on new or challenging tasks?</li><li>Who goes above and beyond to support student success?</li><li>Who has made a significant contribution to enhance effectiveness and efficiency in learning or administration?</li><li>Who has done stellar work to advance inclusion, multiculturalism, or social justice?</li></ul><p>If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you may have a nominee for the UMBC Presidential Staff Awards, the Board of Regents USM Staff Awards, the Jakubik Family Endowment Staff Award or the Karen L. Wensch Endowment Award for Outstanding Non-Exempt Staff.</p><p>We invite all departments and offices to submit nominations to the Office of the Provost to the attention of the Staff Awards Committee. Take a minute to recognize our most deserving staff colleagues (exempt and non-exempt) by nominating them for one or more of these prestigious awards. The BOR awards require at least 5 consecutive years of USM service and provide a $2,000 stipend. The Presidential Staff Awards require at least 7 years of UMBC service for exempt staff and 5 years for non-exempt staff. They provide a $2,500 stipend.
