Retriever Essentials is now using an app called Share Meals which is an upgrade from the previous "Where's Free Food At" notification board. This app allows anyone to post about food left over at campus wide events. To get started, download the appvia iOS or Android and log in using your university credentials. If you are publicizing food, please indicate the start and end time for when food is available for grabs, not when the event itself starts and ends.

February 28, 2026 marks the 40th anniversary of National TRIO Day, and as part of our celebration of these transformational programs, we hope to build a network of TRIO alumni on the UMBC campus.
UMBC's Office of Academic Opportunity Programs (AOP) is gathering the names of UMBC faculty, staff, and graduate students who are TRIO alumni from across the country. Whether your journey began in high school or college, your story is proof that TRIO Works — and we want to celebrate it.

Starting this year we will have an early registration to the UMBC Summer Day Camp for UMBC Faculty & Staff Members. General registration will begin on March 3rd at 12pm, UMBC Faculty & Staff will have access to register starting Sunday March 1, at 12pm. UMBC Faculty & Staff members will receive a discount of $35 per week during registration using the code "STAFF 26". Discounts may not be combined or stacked.
We're excited to welcome campers back for another fun-filled summer with great activities and plenty of opportunities to learn and make friends. This summer we will be introducing some NEW themes such as: Decades Week, Space Week, Holiday Week, World Cup Week, and Game Show Week. While keeping some of our classic themes like Under the Big Top Week, At the Beach Week, Science and Conservation Week, and rounding out the summer with Color Wars!! The Career Center is collecting new and gently used professional clothing for "UMBC Suits You" as part of Career Month. Donations are being accepted NOW through February 28th!
Students will have the opportunity to learn about dressing professionally and then be able to select one free outfit to use for job interviews, career fairs, networking opportunities and much more.. We are asking staff, faculty, alumni, and affiliates to donate new and gently used professional attire at collection bins around campus from February 17th - February 28th.

Dear UMBC Community,
UMBC uses Omnilert to send time-sensitive emergency and weather alerts by text message and email.
Recently, we identified that some subscribers may no longer be receiving text alerts due to an old expiration setting that was part of Omnilert's original campus rollout. While this setting has now been corrected, some accounts may need to be reactivated.
Because some accounts may expire automatically, and there is no notification when this occurs, we encourage all community members to take a moment to check their Omnilert subscription status and opt back in if needed.
If you are not currently enrolled, this is also a good opportunity to sign up to ensure you receive important campus safety and weather notifications.
