Tonight, as part of the Alex. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship's Fall 2013 Idea Competition, 10 student entrepreneurs pitched their ideas to a panel of seasoned entrepreneurs, all UMBC Alum, and a full house at the Sportzone.
2nd Place: Titus Jones, Chatseats
I don't envy the judges and students who determined the outcome. Every idea was pretty remarkable and had the opportunity to win. But, in the end...there can be only one.
Well, actually, there are two first place winners.
Best Idea: Kryan Richardson & Percy Addo with InSOURCE
Best Presentation: Perry Ogwuche, HACKaTHON
2nd Place: Titus Jones, Chatseats
3rd Place: Jennifer Lasbury, Speakedu
Other ideas included:
- Markus Proctor with BrainCAD, a thought driven CAD program
- Emily Schultheis trying to make 3D printing available to students
- Mohammed Danish Akbar with Instaride, a carpooling alternative for students
- Abdulhadi Al Ruwaithi with the SJ Helmet, an airbag motorcycle helmet
- Cody Kenlak with Dynamik Beats, a mood & activity driven music player
