    <div class="html-content"><span><p><span>Attention all students:</span></p><p><span>Are you struggling to choose what courses you should take in Spring 2021?  Are you worried your course load is too heavy or too light?  We have your solution! </span></p><br><p><span>University of Maryland is offering a 2- credit course online this Spring to UMBC students!  The name of the class is IDEA 430: Creating the Venture.  This class is taught by National Entrepreneur Educator of the year and 6 year co-director Georgetown University</span></p><p><span>incubator, Marc Steren.  It will be offered Fridays 11am- 12:30pm, and students will have the chance to compete for a $7,000 cash prize. </span></p><br><p><span>If you are interested in this opportunity, UMBC students will receive credit, however, you first need approval from your academic advisor.  Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity! </span></p><p><span><br></span></p>Check out the attached flyer for more information!</span></div>

Then you’re going to want to hear about CBIC, a competition exclusively for UMBC students that gives out up to $5,000 in cash prizes!</span></p><h3><span>Announcing the Cangialosi Business Innovation Competition (CBIC) – Prizes up to $5K!!!</span></h3><span><br></span><h4><span>What is the CBIC?</span></h4><span><br>The Cangialosi Business Innovation Competition (CBIC) is a unique opportunity for UMBC graduate and undergraduate students who are serious about starting a business.  Participants will experience the process of planning a startup business by submitting a competitive and realistic 3-5 page business plan, which will be judged by members of the Baltimore Angels (real investors!).  Qualifiers will present their ideas in a final<br>competition, where cash prizes will be given out.<br><br></span><h4><span>Prizes:</span></h4><span><br>First Prize= $3,000<br>Second Prize = $2,000<br>Third Prize = $1,000</span><span></span><p><span><br>After a 6-month review, an additional $2,000 is available to one of the top 3 winners.</span><span><br><br></span></p><h4><span>Who Should Participate?</span></h4><span><br>Any UMBC student (full or part time, graduate or undergraduate) with a dream of launching their own business.<br><br></span><h4><span>Why Participate?</span></h4><span><br>The CIBC will give you “real world” experience presenting and proposing your own idea.  You’ll be paired with a business mentor and get helpful feedback and guidance.
