*REPOST* Upcoming Fulbright Accelerators for Faculty
For Social Sciences and Arts Faculty
The CAHSS Creative Achievement and Research Administration Team (CARAT) is hosting two upcoming Fulbright Accelerator Workshops in partnership with the Center for Global Engagement.
The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program,
the largest educational exchange program funded by the U.S. Department
of State, provides opportunities for research, teaching or both in the
social sciences and the arts.
During these hour-long workshops, Dr. Brian Souders,
UMBC's Fulbright Scholar Liaison in the Center for Global Engagement,
will introduce the Fulbright program to interested faculty, explore ways
to create a competitive application, and discuss UMBC internal support
throughout the application process. Rachel Brubaker, Associate
Director for Research Development at CARAT, will discuss CARAT's support and
the application routing process.

UMBC Law Review Seeking Writers; Apply Now!
Great opportunity for Pre-Law Students!
The UMBC Law Review is excited to introduce two article topics for February: (1) Student Rights and Title IX Effectiveness at UMBC and (2) Chesapeake Bay Restoration and Environmental Justice.
Please note that once selected, writers will be expected to participate in weekly virtual meetings and contribute to writing the article each week until the article deadline of March 2nd. The Managing Editors will work directly on the article with you to provide support and guidance as you write!

All of Us Research Program Info Sessions
Students & researchers in STEM and Social Sciences programs
The All of Us Research Program, an initiative spearheaded by the National Institutes of Health, aims to accelerate health research discoveries that enable individualized healthcare by building one of the world's largest and most diverse databases for health research.
The All of Us Research Program database offers access to a diverse, longitudinal dataset that can be used by students and faculty who may not have access to other datasets.
The NIH has worked with research communities and community members to ensure a robust research protocol that respects participants and the needs of the research community. This dataset includes biological and social determinants of health data on a large, inclusive scale, that follows participants as they move, age, and grow.
Researchers with access to the All of Us Researcher Workbench will have the potential to facilitate studies that could lead to new insight, treatment, and strategies for disease prevention that are tailored to individuals.
Join us for an information session to learn more about the research program, including more information on the datasets, how to get registered, and the required training to gain access!

The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) is an independent, nonpartisan agency that works for Congress. We accomplish our mission by providing objective and reliable information and analysis to the Congress, to federal agencies, and to the public, and recommending improvements, when appropriate, on a wide variety of issues to make government work better.
This vacancy is for Summer internship positions. The anticipated start dates begin in May 2024.
As a GAO Undergraduate Intern (Management and Program Analysis), you will work within one of GAO's Chief Administrative Offices or Staff Office to increase your knowledge, skills, and abilities. The work assignments may involve any of the following tasks:
- Develops knowledge of the roles and mission within GAO.
- Develops knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques needed to carry out individual work assignments.
- Participates actively in scheduled training programs.
- Participates with senior staff in conducting non routine projects.
- Provides assistance in planning, monitoring, and conducting special studies, projects and initiatives.
