The Preservation Archaeology Field School in southwestern New Mexico will offer students an opportunity to learn excavation, survey, and analysis methods in a beautiful, remote, and archaeologically rich part of the American Southwest. The program will integrate research, education and preservation to investigate compelling questions about the past. 

This six-week program will provide undergraduate students an opportunity to test excavations at the Gila River Farm site in New Mexico. The program will primarily focus on how different earlier traditions have allowed people of various cultural background to live together, which includes questions such as how local plants and animals are used and how raw materials are obtained.

Rutgers University in Newark is offering a 8-week summer research opportunity for undergraduates who are interested in the fields of environmental studies and environmental systems. 

The program involves multidisciplinary topics such as geophysics, urban geochemistry and urban ecology in northern New Jersey. 

Each scholar will choose an area of specialization and show students how the research experience relates to the urban research project, how the research affects real-life issues that affect them and their families and how they can pursue research careers stemming from this experience.

Dragonfly Arts Magazine is a publication of HopeWorks of Howard County Maryland. Themes for your submitted work (both visual and literary) should focus on reflections about relationships, love, self-care, advocacy, trauma, hope or the process of self-renewal.

Writers/Artists do not have to be survivors.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: February 29, 2016.  Early submission is encouraged. Acceptance notifications will e-mailed by May 2016.

The Women's Center is excited to announce that the Returning Women Students Scholarships Application for 2016-2017 is now available. The deadline for submission is Friday, March 25, 2016.

This common application enables eligible students to apply for more than one of the Returning Women Students Scholarships using the same application. The three available scholarships are:

• Charlotte W. Newcombe Scholarship & The UMBC Scholarship for Mature Students
• AEGON Scholarship
• The Richard & Roselyn Bryson Neville Memorial Fund for Returning Women Scholarship

All undergraduate students over the age of 25 and with at least 60 credits may be eligible. You must be completing your first undergraduate degree. 

Each scholarship has additional eligibility requirements which can be found on the common application instructions.

Each year, applicants submit applications with errors that often impact their consideration for a scholarship. Therefore, we highly encourage all applicants to attend an info session before submitting their application.
