    <div>This session will provide tips on using VoiceThread to share your URCAD presentation.  With Voicethread students can create, share, and comment on images, PowerPoint presentations, videos, audio files, documents, and PDFs, using microphone, webcam, text, phone, and audio-file upload. We’ll review how to create a Voicethread for your URCAD presentation, and how to edit and share your presentation. Staff from the DoIT (Dept. of Information Technology) will be available to answer your questions.  </div>

<Title>Multicultural Leadership Experience Spring 2021</Title>

    <span><div><br></div>Registration is open for the Multicultural Leadership Experience, a collaborative effort between <a href="https://my3.my.umbc.edu/groups/osl" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Campus Life</a> and the <a href="https://my3.my.umbc.edu/groups/themosaic" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Initiatives for Identity, Inclusion &amp; Belonging (i3b)</a>, to be virtually held during the Spring 2021 semester. The Multicultural Leadership Experience (MLE) will:</span><div>
    <span><ul>
    <li><span>Engage up to 20 undergraduate students in a leadership learning cohort;</span></li>
    <li><span>Enhance participants' leader identity and leadership capacity;</span></li>
    <li><span>And increase participants awareness of personal abilities and identity development through authenticity, self-reflection, the role they play in developing relationships, and capitalizing on difference</span></li>

    <div><br></div>This upcoming Special Issue of Education Sciences aims to
    present an overview of the latest research on how
    technology can be used to promote and measure
    conceptual understanding. Papers on (but not limited to)
    the following themes are of interest: <div>

    <li>Laying the foundation for the effective use of
    technology through theoretical and conceptual
    frameworks; </li>
    <li>Using technology to support culturally relevant
    pedagogy; </li>
    <li>Portraying mathematics phenomena through nonlinguistic representations; </li>
    <li>Supporting special populations in mathematics; </li>
    <li>Building mathematics connections; </li>
    <li>Engaging students through cooperative and
    collaborative learning; </li>
    <li>Strengthening meta-cognition in mathematics; </li>
    <li>Promoting mathematical thinking and reasoning; </li>
    <li>Teaching mathematics through inquiry, discovery,
    experimentation, and simulation;</li>
    <li>Connecting technology to curriculum; </li>
    <li>Assessing student outcomes of technology in
    mathematics education. </li>

<Title>Attending Summer Session &amp; need a scholarship? (limited)</Title>

    <p>The Office of Summer &amp; Winter Programs awards a limited number of full and partial scholarships to UMBC degree-seeking students who have a high GPA and are close to graduating. Financial need (based on student’s FAFSA information) is also considered.</p>
    <ul>
    <li>Full scholarships cover tuition for one UMBC summer session course (up to 4 credits) based on UMBC’s in-state undergraduate or graduate tuition rate.</li>
    <li>Partial scholarships cover HALF of the tuition for one UMBC summer session course (up to 4 credits) based on UMBC’s in-state undergraduate or graduate tuition rate.</li>
    <li>Students are responsible for all fees associated with summer courses.</li>
    </ul>

    <p><span><a href="https://fm.umbc.edu/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Facilities Management</a> and the </span><a href="https://accessibility.umbc.edu/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Office of Accessibility and Disability Services</a><span> are hosting a review of recent, current and potential construction projects that enhance accessibility, improve the physical environment of UMBC, and benefit the entire community while supporting accessibility for people with disabilities. </span></p>
    <p><span>Come see the progress made during remote work, new projects on the horizon, and share ideas to inform the proposal process for UMBC's continued participation with the </span><a href="http://mdod.maryland.gov/accessmd/pages/access-Maryland-Home.aspx" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">AccessMD Program</a><span>.  We do provide updates beyond the scope of the program as well.</span></p>
