The Sadie Collective is hosting another year of the Sadie Summit Experience.

We’re looking for people from all backgrounds and perspectives to help us grow and position our businesses for the future. To support our goals of having a dynamic, diverse team, we have partnered with the Sadie Collective and designed The Sadie Summit program, which is principally aimed at attracting sophomore students who self-identify as Black or African American and a woman, however, all sophomore students regardless of background who are interested in exploring job opportunities at JPMorgan Chase are welcome to register.

The Sadie Summit: Exploring Career Pathways program is a 3-month experience that seeks to provide talented and motivated underclassmen an insight into a financial profession through technical training, professional development, mentorship, and networking.

Throughout the program, you will enhance your comprehension of the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB), its lines of business, the necessary skills, and our culture.

The US Postal Service is recruiting for two new full-time entry-level positions in our unit that are meant for majors in economics. The positions are for Financial Analyst and Data Analyst. Both positions are a good fit for any economics major, though the Financial Analyst position is best for applicants more skilled in financial or economic theory, while Data Analyst is better for applicants on the data science side. Regardless, applicants can apply for both positions. The start date for these positions is March or July 2024, so they would be perfect for economics students graduating this Fall or in Spring 2024.

The positions are part of our Emerging Professionals Program (EPP), which is a 2-year program meant for recent graduates of economics or finance programs. After the 2-year period, EPP employees are guaranteed a permanent position at the USPS.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Research Assistant position application is NOW OPEN for those looking to start in the Summer of 2024. 

The position is structured as part of a two-year program for recent graduates with a background in economics, mathematics, statistics, finance, computer science, or related fields. Research Assistants work with a range of economists while utilizing their quantitative and analytical skills to contribute to time-critical analysis of current economic data as well as assist in conducting long-term academic research on a wide range of topics. It is my pleasure to invite graduating seniors (graduating in 2023 or 2024) in the Economics Department to apply for the position of Junior Stanley Surrey Fellow in the Office of Tax Analysis (OTA), U.S. Department of the Treasury. 

Attached is a general description of our office and the position, and an overview of the work experiences of previous Fellows. The fellowship is a great entry level position for economics students who want to work in public policy, further develop skills and who enjoy a fast-paced collegial environment.

The position requires either 1) a degree in economics including 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus; or 2) a combination of formal education and experience that is equivalent to a major in economics with the appropriate course work. Fellows must also be U.S. citizens.

The fellowship is a 2-year full-time, paid work position (GS-7 or 9 depending on experience) in Washington, D.C. and is often used as a bridge between undergraduate and graduate education. Fellows are up for promotion to a higher grade level after one year. Our office is currently on a hybrid work schedule with 2 required workdays in the Treasury Building. The number of required workdays in the office may increase.
