    <div class="html-content"><div>Paid research opportunity with the School of Public Policy</div><div><br></div><div>When: June 3 - July 12, 2024</div><div>Format: In-person and virtual</div><div><br></div><div>What: You'll conduct mentored research with a faculty member at UMBC or the University of Baltimore. As a fellow, you will produce a research paper broadly focused on equity in retirement, health, and disability. You will be introduced to these topics as well as Social Security programs. The recipient of this fellowship will receive a $7,500 stipend.</div><div><br></div><div>How to apply: Submit a 750-word statement explaining your interest in the fellowship. Specifically, please tell us about your interest in social policy related to retirement, disability and health.  For example, how can people live better lives by improving the way Social Security programs work for them?     from qualified students for several departmental scholarships and awards. These scholarships
    will be credited to the students’ UMBC accounts at the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic
    year. In general, a student will be expected to have a cumulative overall GPA of 3.0 to be
    eligible for a departmental scholarship though exceptions may be considered. </div><div><br></div><div>Please note the

The team also assists authors in depositing data, including sensitive and confidential data; explore cutting edge computing techniques that will facilitate computational social science research, and interact with hundreds of researchers from around the world every year. The Research Aide will have the opportunity to engage with Cornell faculty, attend departmental seminars, and take courses. The Research Aide will participate in a growing<span> pre-doc community</span> on the Cornell campus.</p><br><p>The preferred start date is <span>July 1st, 2024</span> (some flexibility). Annual compensation is ~$35,000 (with benefits) for 30 hours/wk. Additional hours can be added by participating in other research projects on campus, or the time can be used to take classes. We prefer to have the successful candidate relocate to Ithaca, NY to work at the Cornell University campus, but offer the flexibility of working remotely within the US for periods of time</p><br><p>This is a term position, renewable with approval based on available funding and work. The role involves close collaboration with the Data Editor to supervise student workers, work independently on replication projects, and serve as a team leader to a team of student replication researchers.
