    <div class="html-content"><div>The application deadline for Dresher Center Summer Faculty Research Fellowships (SFRF) is <u>February 15, 2016</u>. </div><div><br></div><div>Full-time, tenure-track faculty pursuing humanities research in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences are welcome to submit proposals for a Dresher Center SFRF. Summer Faculty Research Fellows will receive support for research and assistance in developing extramural funding applications, book proposals, and grant project applications.     <div class="html-content"><div><strong>CAHSS Centers Fellowship Proposal Workshop</strong></div><div><strong>Friday, December 4, 2015</strong></div><div><strong>12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. (lunch provided), IRC (ITE Rm 108A)</strong></div><div><br></div><div>This workshop is for faculty who are interested in or planning to apply for a 2016 CAHSS Center (CIRCA, Dresher Center, IRC, MIPAR) Summer Faculty Research Fellowship or Dresher Center Residential Faculty Research Fellowship. The Center directors and CAHSS Dean's Office will discuss the 2016 fellowships, application process, evaluation criteria, and award expectations. Participants will learn what makes a proposal successful. A light lunch will be provided.</div><div><br></div><div>Presentations:</div><div><strong>Zotero and Scrivener</strong></div><div>Meredith Oyen, History</div><div>Zotero is a free reference management software program that can be used both for research and for teaching. It is particularly useful for organizing, sorting, and sharing sources and projects between writing partners or groups. Scrivener is a writing platform particularly useful for organizing, drafting, and revising long-form writing in the humanities and social sciences. Dr. Oyen will demonstrate some of the advantages of using both with samples from her own work.</div><div><br></div><div><strong>Adobe Premiere Pro, Excel, and Atlas.ti</strong></div><div>Ed Larkey, Modern Languages, Linguistics, and Intercultural Communication</div><div>Dr. Larkey works with digital tools in his cross-cultural comparative analyses of international television series. He is currently using Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Microsoft Excel, Atlas,ti, MultiModal Analysis, and Cinemetrics to compile, correlate, and visualize quantitative and qualitative data related to temporal parameters on narrative structure, sequences, and content. <Title>Dresher Center Faculty Working Groups in the Humanities</Title>
<Tagline>Call for Applications for Groups Forming in Spring/Fall 2016</Tagline>

    <div class="html-content"><p>The Dresher Center invites applications for new Faculty Working Groups in the Humanities. Faculty Working Groups are collaborative, interdisciplinary communities of scholars working on humanities projects, research concerns, or matters of public interest. The Dresher Center provides support for the formation and first-year activities of these groups in an effort to promote intellectual exchange and support research activities in the humanities among scholars across campus. Working groups meet regularly and may also use their funds to travel to sites or archives, host speakers, explore technologies, create new resources or materials, or other similar activities.</p>
    <p><br></p>
    <p>Faculty Working Groups can apply for up to $1,000 in annual support ($500 per semester) for their first-year activities. Priority will be given to groups with at least one member from a humanities department.</p>
    <p><br></p>
    <p>Deadlines for best consideration are <u>November 1, 2015</u> for groups beginning in spring 2016 and <u>April 1, 2016</u> for groups beginning in fall 2016. </p>
