Office Spirit, LLC, a company founded by Jonathan Lens, an alumnus of UMBC's MPS in Engineering Management Program, has launched a set of novel products based on an idea hatched during his tenure as a student. Jonathan’s product line is comprised of decorative four-port USB 2.0 hub fitted with colorful floral arrangements. He was recently enrolled in ENMG/BTEC 690, Innovative and Technology Entrepreneurship, when Dr. Sheldon Broedel, Associate Director Biotechnology and instructor for the class, encouraged Jonathan to pursue his desire to showcase his invention.
On November 19 at the 2013 Entrepreneur Expo, hosted by The Maryland Technology Development Corporation, Jonathan, Dr. Broedel, and Dr. Ted Foster, Engineering Graduate Program Director, collaborated to represent UMBC and to showcase Jonathan’s product.
The Entrepreneur Expo, themed “E2E: Entrepreneurs Inspiring Entrepreneurs,” brought together entrepreneurial resources from across the state into one place, at one time and draws approximately 400+ of the region’s top entrepreneurs, small business executives, angel and venture capital investors, federal and state economic development officials, university leaders and legislators.
