Yesterday afternoon around 1pm the UMBC network experienced slow connectivity throughout the campus. This affected wireless as well as wired connections and user's ability to access UMBC and off-campus services. This was caused by an unintentional network flood initiated by a company in our research park. We were able to stop the flood shortly after 2pm and regular service was restored. We are working with the company to prevent this type of incident from reoccurring in the future, and I'm sorry for any issues or inconvenience this may have caused.
